President Bush will speak in a few minutes. Get to a TV and watch it, if you have the stomach for it.
I'll accept just the part that somebody claims that I've "earned" from the Chrysler bailout for starters.
“Critical thinking has disappeared.”
Ha! Opposition to the bailout is a text book example of critical thinking.
I continue to pray that this country actually earns God’s blessings.
And remind myself that it’s up to each of us to do the right thing in our own lives and stop demanding the President fix our lives for us.
What I don’t get is why, after all this time, our FReeper brethren seem more willing to attack our political allies than our enemies.
Good one! Yep, bad luck may have grayed them prematurely [or gotton one killed], but it’s the challenge, the ‘bad luck’, that we normally remember our presidents for.
The timing of it is very interesting, is it not? Just in time to freak people out about the economy, and give a huge payoff to the Dems friends. Why else would the Dems be so for it, and the Republicans so against?
Slandering patriots can make people pretty confused about you. The Minute Men were NOT vigilantees. That’s probably the second biggest mistake the Bush Administration made. [The biggest was their failure to prosecute the Clintonista and crush the rats when he had the chance.]
Markets always come back. lol!
Being accused of slander by a slanderer is an honor.
“I continue to pray that this country actually earns Gods blessings.”
I agree with the barb in your words, but as for the prayer itself?
Dead works, my FRiend. You cannot change the human will through prayer. You can pray for greater understanding, for clarity of thinking, for guidance, for divine intervention, and even for confusion to the foes of light. But God does not take away our free will.
According to proverbs we must seek out slanderers and destroy them.
Perhaps because during the years of 2000 through 2006, many of us learned that the number of our political allies were significantly less than the number of politicians with an "R" next to their name. There are way too many Republicans siding with the enemy (and make no mistake, the democrats are the enemy) on issues such as this, and unfortunately, our own President is among them.
The trust is no longer there, and the President's speech this morning did nothing to change that. He's doing exactly what the democrats want - increasing socialism - instead of steadfastly attacking the very socialist programs and cronyism that brought this situation about.
Who is Tokyo Rose, please?
whether or not EU could handle the financial really dont mean squat though if OUR economy cant foot the security bill, since we pay most of it anyhow ???
Not sure what to think of this bill. It would be better to have the market work itself out, but the chance of a Depression was real and the Mortgage market appears dead so as politicians they couldn’t watch it melt. Not as easy as it appears.
Fix the District of Corruption.
Pray for W, McCuda and Our Troops
Remember Reagan’s 80-20 rule?
For what it’s worth, I called both my senators, my congressman, and Sen McCain’s office to voice my opposition to the bailout.
I think every little bit of pressure helps

...do you honestly think Christian martyrs wanted to or enjoyed being burned alive, nailed to crosses, beheaded, pulled apart by animals....
...Nothing like this is happening to Bush....
..Bush is allowing circumstances to rule his opinions/actions and in no way do I see a martyr complex...
What he's doing is not glorifying Christ, IMO.
I hope no one is Tokyo Rose this morning. But I had to wonder. On the one hand, the web site destribing this bill went down, and if we have more panic being spread at the same time, it makes a guy wonder. It sure made me wonder. You will notice, however, I concluded that Bush is simply caught in the panic grinder.
Again, who were you referring to as "Tokyo Rose"?
