Barack Obama played the "me too" game during the Friday debates on September 26 after Senator John McCain mentioned that he was wearing a bracelet with the name of Cpl. Matthew Stanley, a resident of New Hampshire and a soldier that lost his life in Iraq in 2006. Obama said that he too had a bracelet. After fumbling and straining to remember the name, he revealed that his had the name of Sergeant Ryan David Jopek of Merrill, Wisconsin.
Shockingly, however, Madison resident Brian Jopek, the father of Ryan Jopek, the young soldier who tragically lost his life to a roadside bomb in 2006, recently said on a Wisconsin Public Radio show that his family had asked Barack Obama to stop wearing the bracelet with his son's name on it. Yet Obama continues to do so despite the wishes of the family

LOL - That is priceless! I’m grateful when people put together photos like this. It helps to keep one’s spirits up in the face of dealing with people like Obama to laugh.
“Im beginning to think were living in a Soviet-style country in which the media is VERY one sided. Not controlled by the Dems, but they might as well be.
I agree with you. And factor in the Obama so-called ‘truth squads’ (read what’s going on in Missouri), and it truly smacks of control. Interestingly, last night on the local news (I live in Illinois near St. Louis) the St. Louis county prosecutor, a member the so-called Obama ‘truth squad’ used a whole bunch of words and a little ridicule to rebut the view that they were supposed to attack anyone who “didn’t tell the truth about Obama.” Then the reporter (local Fox News) interviewed someone who said McCain has a truth squad, too, and how much better it would be if a bipartisan group performed that function.
Draw your own conclusion.
Tracy Jopek gave the bracelet to Obama in February 2008. Sounds like a setup. The link below is a Feb 18, 2008 story written long before the debates.
"Jopek, a Democrat who will vote for Obama in Wisconsin's primary on Tuesday, has been against the war from the start, the paper said."
''And it's not over for us until this war is over. I just don't want any more soldiers to die in vain for something that we can't solve,'' she told the paper."
"Jopek, a self confessed political junkie, told the New York Times that she had noticed Republican presidential candidate John McCain wearing a similar bracelet."
"McCain, the Arizona senator, received the bracelet from the mother of Corporal Matthew Stanley, who was also killed in Iraq, and he has been wearing it ever since."
I wonder if this bracelet business was a set up by the Obama campaign who sought this woman out in order to counter the McCain campaign. I find it odd that she now doesn't want to talk, yet the story at the time as related to the NYT makes no bones as to why she asked Obama to wear it. Why the silence now? I suspect that there is much more to this story.
My brother told me that CNN had Donna Brazille and Paul Begala using the dial method made famous by Frank Lusk's town hall style method where actual voters rate the debate, yet CNN was only using Brazille and Begala. So while the debate is going on these two Democrat operatives and Obama supporters were rating the winner real time.
He also said that Wolf Blitzer had Joe Biden on (I haven't confirmed this yet) and they were joking about the debate. At one point Wolf commented that they needed Sarah Palin there also to which the panelist responded with "good luck with that".
This is the most disgusting display by the media I have ever seen. I hope the American people reject this but who knows.
If the family was willing, this would make a great political ad to show Obama’s real character. This is the side voters need to know about.
“At least the ex had the intelligence to get rid of her ... I guess.”
I was going to say something similar, but you beat me to it.
If Obama is elected who will be in his Cabinet? Oprah Winfrey as Sec. of State, O.J. Simpson as Attorney General, Reverend Wright as .......... ?
There actually used to be major-league newspapers which were known to favor Republicans editorially. I can’t think of any such today. Magazines like Time once leaned Republican. Today, most mass magazines and network broadcasting are Leftist propaganda organs. Aren’t there any conservatives with enough money to buy a major media outlet? Most undecided independent voters get all their “ideas” from these media. People like Rush and the other conservative or libertarian commentators and bloggers are mostly just preaching to the crowd, not changing minds.
See my post #64. The mother is not being truthful if you believe the story, written on February 18. 2008, is accurate. The mother is a self-described political junkie and Obama supporter. Supposedly, the mother came up with the idea after seeing McCain wearing a bracelet. I suspect that this is a concocted story, which is why the mother is now refusing to talk to the press. More than likely, it was the Obama campaign who came up with the idea for the bracelet.
Ray Nagin as Sec. of Homeland Security?
> Isnt the news out yet that Obama is the Second Coming?
You do mean the Second Coming of Stalin don’t you?
Barney Frank as Secretary of Sodomy and AIDS?
The Senator from ILLINOIS chooses a Wisconsin soldier??? Pro’ly because the name was easier to remember. Whoops, blew that too. Why not a bracelet from a brave Illinois boy whose family is pleased with their representation in the Senate? Maybe they all said no.
Hoodoo ping
Thank you. You’re the best!
It might be interesting to see any recent videos/pix of Obama and whether he has been wearing the bracelet previous to the debate.
The Messiah should not be questioned like this.
