Barack Obama played the "me too" game during the Friday debates on September 26 after Senator John McCain mentioned that he was wearing a bracelet with the name of Cpl. Matthew Stanley, a resident of New Hampshire and a soldier that lost his life in Iraq in 2006. Obama said that he too had a bracelet. After fumbling and straining to remember the name, he revealed that his had the name of Sergeant Ryan David Jopek of Merrill, Wisconsin.
Shockingly, however, Madison resident Brian Jopek, the father of Ryan Jopek, the young soldier who tragically lost his life to a roadside bomb in 2006, recently said on a Wisconsin Public Radio show that his family had asked Barack Obama to stop wearing the bracelet with his son's name on it. Yet Obama continues to do so despite the wishes of the family

Ping!
That whole election turned on the msm’s trumped up republican corruption BS.
From what I understand that is the way it used to be years ago. Usually two papers in each town - One Democrat leaning, one Repbulican leaning. That way citizens could read both and figure out which one was telling the truth. Nowadays you have newpaper agencies like Gannet, McClatchy, etc... that have taken over these smaller papers, and usually there is only one paper in a given area (like the one I live in).
It gets even worse when you still have the APPEARANCE of two separate papers - like in Denver. The Denver Post and the Rocky Mountain News are owned by the SAME company (the Denver Newspaper Agency), although they both publish a daily paper. While one may lean left, and the other a little right, it is NOTHING like what it used to be.
hmm...Bush 41 glances at his watch and it’s fodder forever.
O reads the name of a dead soldier whose bracelet has supposedly been on O’s arms for months, despite the soldier’s fathers pleas to O to remove it, and the media yawns, turns over and goes back into hibernation.
And they wonder why newspaper readership is down 40%?
We have Gannett here and they are terrible!
If Obama doesn't mind abusing the honorable dead, just think how he will deal with the living
OUSSABAMA must be caught in flagrante delicto of LIE and TREACHERY...
It’s NOT a nice pleasant race between 2 fair friends Mr. McCAIN
Thanks guys, it’s in breaking news now.
“the medias on his side. Im beginning to think were living in a Soviet-style country in which the media is VERY one sided. Not controlled by the Dems, but they might as well be.”
The media is controlled by the same agenda and people that control Obama. I don’t believe for a second that Obama is a free thinker.
But how do we know that was the spirit in which she gave Obama the bracelet? I'm not saying that it wasn't; but Barry has been known to embellish or outright lie before. I realize the mother is an Obama supporter, but this from the article makes it look as if Barry might have stepped waaaay over the line. (Again.)
Jopek began by saying that his ex-wife was taken aback, even upset, that Obama has made the death of her son a campaign issue. Jopek says his wife gave Obama the bracelet because "she just wanted Mr. Obama to know Ryan's name." Jopek went on to say that "she wasn't looking to turn it into a big media event" and "just wanted it to be something between Barack Obama and herself." Apparently, they were all shocked it became such a big deal.
You know what’s even scarier? If you look at all the things Obama has in place it’s like the Communist Manifesto come to life.
1. A nationwide propaganda spewing loyal media infatuated with him.
2. Gestapo-like “Truth Squads” (law enforcement and elected officials responsible for suppression of Free Speech)
3. Obama “Youth” - Children taught songs in support of Obama (very scary to watch...)
4. Mesmerizing speaking to crowds where he works them by using their emotions, while never really letting on his true intentions.
5. Offices across the country that are teaching Alinsky radical methods.
Well, I could go on and on, but you get the point I’m sure... He’s got his whole plan all in place already, and even if we DO win the election and McCain is our President, Obama has built a Communist Network that Chavez, and all the totalitarian dictators that have come before would be very jealous of...
Obama is a VERY dangerous person.
The question, then, is why are most if not all of those newspaper agencies tilt left? There are many rich Republicans. Can’t they get into the news business?
I very much agree with you. The guy is frightening.

There are links to articles with quotes from Mrs. Jopek from when she FIRST gave him the bracelet.
There is also a link to a comment her ex-husband made that the reason she is not coming forward and making herself available to the media is because she doesn’t want to end up in another “Cindy Sheehan situation”.
Mrs. Jopek made the comment to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel that she gave him the bracelet so he would know “this is REAL.” She stated that she did want the troops to come home, but that it had to be done RESPONSIBLY and INTELLIGENTLY. There was no “bring the troops home now” comment made by Mrs. Jopek.
Obama has twisted this around, and is putting the Jopek family through the ringer with this. I can tell you this much. Up here in Northern Wisconsin, Obama will lose a LOT of votes and, he doesn’t have that many up here to begin with that I’m aware of. I honestly don’t know one person who is voting for him.
no, she is a mother of a dead child. leave it at that and get on nobama’s worthless arse
OK - that was funny!
I wonder the same exact thing. The only thing I can guess is that it is probably a “bad investment” as newspapers are losing money like crazy.
I would think though that if someone set up a news agency, or TV news station (cable) with honest-to-goodness reporters that did the utmost best to report without bias, they would make a TON of money. That’s just my opinion, but I truly believe they would be successful. The reason these places are losing money isn’t just because of the internet. It’s because people are sick and tired of the bias.
It’s at these times that I truly wish I were rich. I would GLADLY - if I had enough to do it of course - spend a TON of dough putting it together. I’ve got a ton of ideas, but never enough money to put it into action! LOL
[If anyone reading this has the money, but no ideas — let me know! LOL]
Neither do I. And my state is solid red. That's a good thing because there's something funny going on with absentee ballots.
A few of us are digging into this now.
