I have not heard any mention of his statement on the economy. He said something like he would rebuild the economy from the bottom up instead of the top down. The top down is a failed policy. Time for a change. He mentioned that this notion that spreading wealth at the top and hope it trickles down to poor does not work. I dont know the exact quote, did anyone else hear it?
Longer than that. Try the "New Deal" programs by FDR. "Pump-priming" economics does NOT work. It didn't work in the 1930s, it won't work now. All it did then was exacerbate the Great Depression. How much worse and how much longer will this current crisis get with FDR/LBJ/BHO economics?
With Raines and Johnson at his side, with adivce from , Dodd, Frank, Schumer, Kerry, Ried, Pelosi and support from Ayers, ACORN, Rev Wright, Al Sharpton, and Jesse Jackson.
The insane running the insane asylum.
Do we want these people incharge come January 09?
Bottom up? How naive. It defies logic.
The man child will do or say anything necessary to get elected. The “chosen one” and the sycophants who worship him in the press corps, threw their principles to the wind a long time ago. He speaks in the code words of socialism. Saul Alinsky would be proud.
Give it to him, bottom feeders know about the bottom.
He wants to fix the economy from the ground up...but doesn’t want to do that to the mortgage loan problems in the bailout plan.
Oh yeah Obama....you’re full of you know what.
This crap sounds like writtings that belong in another little red book that our kids will memorize.

Mortgages for all! home ownership for the poor!
People invest capital in a business and hire workers and buy equipment. The capitalists work hard to sell their products or services and, if successful, employees share in that success.
You can't build a capitalist economy from the bottom up because those at the bottom have no capital to start the process unless they are given the capital of those who had it to begin with (communist redistribution of wealth).
Mao’s Little Red Book and its time for re-education camps.
***Theyll stimulate the economy by buying cigs, beer & crack.***
Yep, that’s what the “bottom up” will be buying. But when there’s no money in the U.S. treasury because all the “trickle-down” firms are taxed out of business, the “bottom uppers” will be living in even more abject poverty then they are presently. Hey, Obama, that’s called SOCIALISM.
Right!
Bottom up is SOCIALISM/COMMUNISM. The tall, but small, Obama has just changed the names.
***Fannie Mae was from the bottom up...***
Yes, it was! Good thinking. And that’s what has put us where we are today.
Hey, as the email that is circulating throughout the US points out, we need to have wealth distribution. If the federal government has money to bail out German and Chinese banks and AIG, Fannie and Freddie et al, how about requiring them to spend the same amount, $85 billion, to bail out US families.
Each person over 18 would get about $425,000, and would pay $127,500 in tax on it, netting the Treasury a partial payback immediately. With the remaining $297,500 ($595,000 per couple), people could pay off their mortgages, student loans, car loans, medical bills and we might even have money to put in savings, providing capital for those small business owners. The lady who posted this calls it the We Deserve It Dividend. I am totally in favor of redistributing the federal government’s income which it takes from us by threat. We could do so much with our money and certainly wouldn’t have to bail out the nation’s banks if we able to manage it ourselves.
Casino politics.
How many trillions of dollars have been spent on poverty, social programs, nationalization and rescue monies for overdrawn budgets?
Do we even know anymore? FDR, LBJ, BJC, and now this.
It must be in the trillions. We have spent the national wealth, relying on our people and technology to make enough to cover the bets.
The problem is that casino politics, like all betting, only favors the house. You don’t go to Vegas without enough money that you can afford to lose because ‘Vinny’ is waiting to collect.
America needs a Vinny. Oh wait. He’s at the door.
Yes, I heard it and immediately knew that meant “SPEND, SPEND, SPEND!”
