"All he has do is run a commercial with Obama saying, "I agree with John."Already been done. They were so fast getting that video out it blew my mind. Scroll the thread starting around the #2000 postings until you find a posting with the link to it.

I am as well. There is s msn in Pennsylvania saying in his traditionally Dem area tonight I thought McCain won hands down.

I pretty much see this the same as you. I do think that the Obama performance tonight was about the best he has in him. He wears very thin in just a short time and I doubt that I am alone in finding him uninteresting and painful to listen to. He is programmed and agenda driven. He obviously, especially at the beginning, was supposed to work in George Bush as a negative but McCain ignored it and soldiered on. OBama is quite the smooth hustler. McCain was good even tho off to a rough beginning. Which means that John McCain can be expected to do very well in following debates. If this debate was the best that Obama could do, as I believe, and not the best that McCain is capable of, we are in good shape.

If you have to concede your opponent was right eight times, that betrays a lack of self-confidence. And people will notice.I think everyone noticed that.

Breaking on FNC - a PA focus group done by a Wilkes-Barre paper went big for McCain tonight in the debate. Thats Pennsylvania which Obama needs or he is toast!

He lost alot of credibility with this group. Reading this Hannity?

I am as well. There is a man (talking with Greta) in Pennsylvania saying in his traditionally Dem area tonight, “They thought McCain won hands down. “

You’re confusing me - on one hand you say YOU thought Obama did better, now you say you don’t think that but you assume the average voter will. Bottom line is we don’t know yet what the overall reaction will be. I think Mccan won and i think it will help him a bit in polling but not ‘til after the usual Dem-weekend.

If you remember GW’s first debate that everyone said he did terrible, he smoked the next 2. McCain did extremely well considering all the pressure was on him after this week.
From the Earmarks to the He’s not only naive but dangerous, Maverick showed why he was in charge.
The bracelet line and America is not what it once was will cause damage to Obummer.

Luntz is a (nominally) Republican pollster. That said, I don't know how carefully he picks his focus groups. Many times when I could stomach him during the NH and IA voting, his groups were all touchy feely, and I don't know how scientifically that reflects likely voters. Sounds like this group tonight was from the same bunch. He's been criticized in a number of Republican circles over the years for consistently driving the party in the direction of identity politics, and he takes a lot of store in how well people “connect” with audiences. Whatever.

It was so bad. I couldn’t even focus on anything he was saying. I just kept thinking, “Did they do that to him on purpose??”
