This is a purely unscientific observation based on many years of following local and national races in the "red T" of the Pennsylvania mid-state.
Through several decades of election cycles it has seemed that any candidate who can flood the area with yard signs--especially those displayed on private property, as opposed to major intersections in public right of ways--has gone on to prevail in the election. The candidate who strikes first wins big.
In my battleground district of a battleground County in the battleground State of Pennsylvania, I am delighted to observe a SURGE in McCain and McCain-Palin signs. Even more delightful are the sudden appearance of many "Another Democrat for McCain" signs. Most of these have appeared post-convention.
As to the other side: The Obamanistas planted their signs before the Primary and they have remained in the ground ever since. Very few new ones have appeared.
And so I pose the catechetical question used by Luther: "What does this mean?"
Are mccain/PALIN signs FRee?
I’m so disappointed. I ordered and paid for McCain-Palin yard sign and bumper sticker. I got one without Palin. I don’t plan to use them. I may take them in to my local office and give them to those guys. grrrr.
He is also winning BIG in Wisconsin. I don’t think I’ve seen an Obama yard sign.
After seeing the latest round of Rasmussen polls out today...I don’t know what to think any more.
Do you think it has something to do with Obama charging $8 per sign?
I do.
but I do think we can take 270....minimumlly....
They’re only winning the yard sign battle until the Dem night-raiders start pulling them down...
go thru Jeff Head though....he got me my "vote for Sarah" stickers very quickly....
and two days ago, I was able to buy a pink "Palin Power" hat at the McCain office....there were no more left....
KJL @ NRO: Corner "Seriously?"
Try to buy, say, a sign or a button or a t-shirt from the McCain store online and you'll get a note that it will take 1-2 weeks. I thought we had an election to win. 1-2 weeks could mean the election!
Additionally, if you go to the RNC's website, you will not be directed to McCain-Palin merchandise but to the George W. Bush store. Now, I love George W. Bush (I do, I still do. Even in these days of Treasury Creep ) ... but, priorities, people!
I almost made a purchase ...
I’m at UPenn in Philly right now and everyday I see kids wearing their barack t-shirts. The College Dems (which is probably about 95% of the school population) are registering kids like crazy. The Lib professors are handing out registration forms in class and canceling classes on election day. It’s making me sick.
One of my clients does work in Malibu Colony- Barbra streisand country— and he says he is really thrulled to see all the McCain signs, including one that says: Democrats for McCain/Palin.
I’m sure this is driving Babs to drink more.

“Three yards and a cloud of dust.”
Pennsylvania is in play this time!!!!!
I had no problem getting McCain signs and bumper stickers for free at the local campaign office (Blue Bell). Quantities were limited, but I had enough for my yard and a few to share with a passing veteran.
Thanks. I placed my order.
