Your right, it’s not realistic. The voters would revolt. I’m hopeful that they just dont go overboard like they are apt to do. Good point on J.P. Morgan’s bailout. Maybe we should hit up Bill Gates. I hear he has some extra coin.

Ironically, Graham may have inadvertently stumbled upon the truth. Pearl Harbor was an attack by enemies of this nation. It was not the consequence of well-meaning but boneheaded policy, as this thing is being characterized.

A private RTC sounds interesting, but I don’t know how it would be promoted. Maybe government chartered like Fannie and Freddie, publicly selling its stock AND requiring investment by organizations that have their mortgage securities purchased?

As I recall, Bush was talking about “terrorists” or some term like that prior to our Aug. 6, 2006 meeting with him. Three days later was the first time I heard him publicly call them “Islamofascists.”
The problem with the RTC is that it’s not on the table now, and getting a group to support such a different concept at this point probably won’t fly.
The Republicans running for Congress this year already had the gas prices, and opposition to a viable energy policy to hang around the necks of Democrats, this one will just add fuel to the desire to get a new crop of conservatives in Congress who are willing to be financially responsible!

No, it was “off the record.” I only spoke of what happened recently. It was me, Victor Davis Hanson, George Weigel, John Keegan, and Gabor Borrit. We met first with Rove, then spent an hour with W. talking history and military history.

W is VERY smart, historially attuned, and well read. He asked insightful questions, always ahead of the curve.
I agree! I would add that we need abolish the income tax and implement the “Fair Tax”. Abolish the corporate tax; capitol gains tax; inheritance tax; marriage penalty tax...probably some more. Then, as Rush said, the investment in this country would skyrocket and business would recover and expand.
All being said, it’s wonderful that the more conservative leaders of gov’t are making the nation and world take note of exactly why these bailouts hurt the taxpayers/ordinary citizens and why this should never have been a method to govern business.
Little by little, the voters are educated as to why socialist communism doesn’t work. Charity works. But, not forced “charity”.
By forcing the law of bailouts for foolish business, our socialist communist minded elected officials (and the voters and investors who got them there) reveal their sins of:
vanity (thinking that the state can play charity like God),
theft (stealing money from those who work to give it to those who REFUSE to discipline themselves with work),
sloth/laziness (enables the slackers to stay lazy and on the gov’t payroll),
greed (keeps themselves rich in the swindle for more false profit),
lying (by refusing to disclose the details of this situation and by creative accounting—cooking the books)
and the enslavement of the human will against the gifts Nature gives the individual to pursue happiness. Because socialist communists enact laws to undermine our basic right of individual freedom to pursue our own goals, we the taxpayer are left with the bill to bail out our entire financial system.
The Revelation of gov’t sponsored swindling of taxpayers means that more fiscally conservative leaders will be elected. This lesson won’t be spun and deflected from the voters’ collective attentions. We don’t care for celibraty news and special interest stories like we use to be distracted (even by news of wars and rumors of war). Pres. Bush and Sen McCain with the help of think tank conservatives are laying this financial fiasco squarely on the heads of those who created this mess—the godless self-worshippers (who especially see the erradication of mankind as their solution: abortion & euthanasia). Satan and those who’ve let sin their selfish hearts are to blame.
