A private RTC sounds interesting, but I don’t know how it would be promoted. Maybe government chartered like Fannie and Freddie, publicly selling its stock AND requiring investment by organizations that have their mortgage securities purchased?

As I recall, Bush was talking about “terrorists” or some term like that prior to our Aug. 6, 2006 meeting with him. Three days later was the first time I heard him publicly call them “Islamofascists.”
The problem with the RTC is that it’s not on the table now, and getting a group to support such a different concept at this point probably won’t fly.
