Aiming to prove how serious he is about addressing the financial crisis, John McCain has instructed his staff to take all his campaign commercials off the air, a spokesman tells Politico.~ snip ~

Mr. Nuance is Mr. Indecision is Mr. Obama.
*sigh* Why can’t somebody remind McCain how the Gipper used to handle situations like this? When Congress was tying itself up in knots, Reagan would say what he had to say and then he’d head to his ranch and ride his horse. It calmed the public and reminded them that the real business of the country manages to go just fine without Congress.
McCain wants to go back to DC. Notice that he is not going back until he has spoken at the Clinton Global Initiative function.
He doesn't want to diss Bill. McCain knows who his friends are.
Best,
Chris
Can this week get any stranger?
Put out ads to tell people why he took down the ads 0_o
I'm beginning to have a clearer understanding of that last fact. I hope this is a gamble pays off for him half as well as his VP appointment did.
This is BAD news.
Obama will not follow suit.
It will be spun negatively by the MSM ... McCain will be pilloried for this.
He will lose.
McCain just won the election by a landslide if Fauxbama doesn’t return to Washington. You’re right the moonbats won’t care, but the 20% of the electorate that are moonbats are going to vote for Fauxbama no matter what.
McCain was already winning independents and moderates, if Fauxbama is out there campaigning while McCain is taking this crisis on, McCain blows Fauxbama OUT OF THE WATER, Goldwater will have a higher vote percentage at the end of the day.
Fauxbama either has to go to washington, or get absolutely pasted.
Lets see his spokespeople and media twist themselves in knots trying to defend him being out on the campaign trail while this is going on and his opponent is putting the nation first.
No this is brilliant-
1) he will get MORE media play out of STOPPING his ads then he would ever have gotten running them
2) he saves money
and 3) it keeps Obamara on his heels
Boy ‘The One’ is having a bad day today... it starts with Bill clintoon giving helpful advice to his opponent, and just kept getting worse...
With the Messiah coming to DC, we can expect some divine intervention.
McCain may be having a self-destruct moment. It’ll pass like gas. Sarah better pick up the slack, and take point until Friday. That is what we are talking about, two days. Can we stand to have half the material of the silly season stalled for two days?
Very well stated and you summed up my thoughts completely. McCain is seen as a leader and not a politician in this action. Ever since Schmidt joined the campaign and McKinnon left it has been running on all cylinders that reflect the Senator — Country First!
“Nobamas hand, who apparently has agreed to also suspend his campaign.”
Got a linky for that? If so, then McCain just gutted The One’s campaign in the course of a single day. WOW.
This will work as well as Bob Dole’s “resigning from the Senate.”
527s will probably move in to fill some of the vacuum.
Okay, let’s hope he does not get “shot down” and put this country in the Hanoi Hilton for 4 to 8 years.
John ‘Lose one for the Gipper’ McCain strikes again.
I’ll vote for Palin, but McCain is striving to pull defeat from the jaws of victory.
He could nail the Democrats and Obama for creating this mess, but he prefers their friendship to an honest assessment of what happened and how to truly fix it, as opposed to papering over the wrongdoing.
;-)
Funny you said that. After Obama’s stupid speech about healing the earth and such, I started calling him Obama the Spritual Faith Healer. Because to believe in his economic and foreign policy cures, you have to believe that he can channel higher beings’ powers.
This is a strange campaign.
Don’t like it on the face of it, is McCain going to force feed the Republicans a bad bill at the end of the day?
