Sarah Palin is set to upstage George W. Bush in New York Tuesday as the Republican vice-presidential candidate meets world leaders and the singer Bono on the margins of the United Nations World Summit.
Bush will be inside UN headquarters giving his final address as president, but his call for countries to confront U.S.-designated "rogue" states like Iran, North Korea and increasingly Russia risks getting lost amid the attention given to John McCain's running mate.
The Alaska governor didn't even have a U.S. passport until 2007, but the McCain camp hopes Palin's "coming out" on the world stage will boost her foreign policy credentials in the eyes of U.S. voters.

I hope she tells Bono to shut up and sing.
I hope she sends Charlie Gibson the pictures!
Franklin, Jefferson, Adams, Washington and Lincoln are looking down right now and they are proud! Teddy Roosevelt too! Go get ‘em Sarah!
Palin Ping.
Sarah will upstage Bono, too.
that is no easy feat.
YOU GO GIRL!
Amen. And good to see your post RabidRalph.
How many courics does Bono weigh these days, anyways?
It’s amazing how popular a person who seems like a Conservative can be isn’t it. Now, if Congress and the RNC would just begin to act like some of her views rubbed off on them.
Maggie Thatcher too!
It’s good to be able to post! I hope you and yours are having a wonderful evening.
President George Bush, ever the gentleman, and quite comfortable with women, will not care one bit about being "upstaged." I have not been a great fan of John McCain, although I committed to voting for him pre-Sarahcuda, have to admit that his choosing her and treating her and her entire family with such ease and gallantry has made me feel better about the whole thing.
I do believe this is the first time that Gov Palin will meet President Bush since she won the VP nod.
UN is a pretty stuffy place, I’m sure she will have alot of buzz, especially from some of the Intl Obama backers.
Even with her so-called “inexperience”—could she possibly screw up foreign policy more then the professionals have in the last 30 years? The one exception is Ronald Reagan.
Here’s foreign policy in one sentence: Mess with America, and we’ll kick your ass.
The amount of foreign “friends” we have, you can count on one hand. Even with the War on Terror.
And that is after expending trillions of dollara and hundreds of thousands of American lives since 1944, freeing countless millions of people from tyranny and getting nothing in return.
Sarah Palin is meeting Maggie Thatcher, wouldn’t that make a great picture?
Sarah is NOT Joan of Arc....but she is or can be a Margaret Thatcher or a Ronald Reagan....she is a natural born leader, a person who wants to lead for all the RIGHT reasons..
And Gov. Palin will rock the UN!
