They won't cover the news, like her email being hacked, but this will be there daily, placed by the media dancing monkeys between now and election day. This is a real low down hatchet job.

As always, when I read the headline I thought "Uh oh" and then read the article to find NOTHING THERE.

Here's the Big Revelation:

The McCain-Palin campaign echoed the charge in a press release it distributed Monday, concurrent with Palin's legal filing. "Mr. Monegan persisted in planning to make the unauthorized lobbying trip to D.C.," the release stated. But the governor's staff authorized the trip, according to an internal travel document from the Department of Public Safety, released Friday in response to an open records request.

So, uh...that's it?

An internal government document obtained by ABC News...

I didn't know Dan Rather was doing "document search" for ABC.

I thought this guy served at her pleasure. What part of that do they not understand. There should be no question of wrongful termination - it’s irrelevant.

Whoa, hatchet job indeed… The great American (free and robust) press hasn’t even probed into the Arkansas “trooper-gate” incident(s) yet. I guess we’ll just have to wait until they’re done French-frying Sarah. If they think they can get me to turn against Sarah, they got another thing coming…

The headline gave the impression Palin was caught in a lie, game over. This is ridiculous and if it is the best the Obama supporting MSM can come up with they are truly desperate.

She should just say, “I fired the a$$hole, as was within the scope of my authority as Governor and done in the best interest of the citizens of Alaska. Period, end of story.

A Trooper tasered a child and this idiot sat on his hands and did nothing, likely only to be a thorn in Palin’s side. There is likely more to know but what more does one need to know? It was a good fire.

They are following the "attack Bush model" to the letter. They realized that they can manipulate public opinion by coming out with a constant barrage of attacks, over and over again.

They got caught with their hand in the cookie jar prior to the 2004 election, but they got right back on track after the election and were directly responsible for the 2006 disaster.

The media is now a propaganda arm of the DNC. Nothing less.

It's long past time that we did something about it. We need to take the message directly to the people.

We need to let people know loud and clear that we are on to their game, and we are not going to be silenced.

It's time to declare war on the media.

$105,849

The amount Obama received from Freddie Mac.

Yet THIS is a "scandal".

What I do not understand is why everyone says Gov. Palin fired this guy?

From what Palin has said about this: the guy was not doing an effective job in the position he held and Gov. Palin decided to replace him. She offered him another job in a position she thought would benefit the people of Alaska and this guy decided not to take the job.

Technically he quit!

This is an effective tactic used by an employer when they know the employee will reject the reassignment and resign or quit.

Tried to post this on the abcnews site comments section, using several bugmenot logins that appeared to have worked successfully, but kept getting errors each time I posted.

So I'll just post what I wrote below. If anyone wants to do me a favor and retry posting this over there, I'd appreciate it!

Uhh... did I miss something? I read the story carefully twice, and in spite of the fact the ABC writer implies twice that this travel authorization paper "contradicts" what Palin said, I see no contradiction at all. It was bait & switch -- he told them he was traveling to DC for one reason, but later admitted it was for another. So, Palin never "authorized" him to go to DC for the reasons that he eventually went there for, and that's obviously the sense in which she used the word "unauthorized" recently. But because there is this piece of paper "authorizing" travel for him to DC, ABC implies Palin has told an untruth? HARDLY!

What is it with these "journalists" (I use the term loosely) and their Palinophobia? They keep screaming "Fire" and then just churn out smoke. And more smoke. And more smoke. Sometimes smoke and mirrors. But no fire has yet shown up. What do they take us for? It's rather insulting, actually, for them to assume every one of us will just read the headline and a paragraph or two and yell "Ha! They caught her! Nailed her to the wall this time, they did, they did!"

What ABC seems to be saying to their audience, between the lines, is this: "OK, so if you do read our whole article through carefully, then yes, you will see it is all smoke and mirrors and hand-waving, and there's nothing really there of any importance to substantiate the smearing innuendo in the article's title. But we don't care, because you're not our target audience anyway. Our target audience is, in PT Barnum's immortal words, the 'Some People You Can Fool All Of The Time'. So don't waste your time reading this article carefully. It's not aimed at you, but rather at those who read only the title, or the title and first paragraph, or who try to make it past the first paragraph but get bogged down in all the boring details and give up while assuming there's some real meat in the rest of the article".

Another Shining Moment in American "Journalism"

We are witnessing the birth of a new brazenness in journalism. I think FOX and O'Reilly in particular showed the lib journalists that Rush Limbaugh's success was translatable to television in a way that Savage and other attempts (including Rush's) were not. Olberman was the lead on this because he needed to define himself in a way that was a contrast to OR.

I believe that, whether by plan or more likely accident, the fireworks at MSNBC were a test case for the Obama fans in media. They saw the rampant partisanship going on at MSNBC resulted in NO negative fallout.

Also, Lou Dobbs has shown that one can easily go from objective reporter (which he was) to fiery op-ed vocalist, which is what all reporters actually want to be--they don't trust you, the silly uninformed ones, to GET the point of a story, they want to actually tell you what to think of what they're reporting.

So the success of OR, Dobbs and MSNBC--and the death of Tim Russert, in retrospect the one "balanced" member of the media--and the complete lack of criticism by those the media professionals respect--namely, each other--have given the liberal reporters the go-ahead to just go on and be biased. With the exception of a single piece in National Journal, I've not seen ANY self-criticism by the media. And that's the key--the media realized they were the only ones who'd be able to legitimize such criticism, so why not just DO it? They ALL think they're Tim Russert, they ALL think they're "unbiased" and just "telling the truth", and why deal with the frustrations of telling "the truth" and STILL having those morons (i.e. anyone not in the media, anyone who doesn't subscribe to the NYT) vote for THAT IDIOT BUSH NOT ONCE BUT TWICE??????

People get into journalism to make a difference in the world. But now that we all have access to all kinds of journalism, as opposed to just three liberal networks and the local papers, more and more opinions are available to us, more and more points of view that aren't from ABC/CBS/NBC. So they have to live in the new world, and the way to do that isn't just to create news stories that merely lead us to their own pre-ordained conclusions--they're just going to TELL us exactly how and what to think.

More of the same from these creeps... instead of just reporting the news, they have a manufacture the news.
I wonder how they would like it if average citizens were to have their own TV network and did some investigating of their own of the MSM.

MSM's goal in these hatchet jobs isn't to present the truth. They create a wild, yet memorable story headline with connotations of misdoings. Later in the story the 'meat' that backs up the headline fails to deliver. But, the MSM doesn't care - they've done their job by creating the headline, because that's the only thing that will stick in voters' minds.

Yet, the MSM has badly misinterpreted their tactics in Sarah Palin's case - her supporters JUST DON'T CARE. They see past the BS, accusations and badgering. Every appearance she makes in front of thousands of true-hopefuls increases the party's resolve and strength. And, this my friends (to borrow JMs favorite phrase), is what eats at these Obama-lovin MSM phonies night and day.

Remember how Obama won his first election? It was by sending lawyers after the female incumbent and having as many signatures required to run disallowed due to any technical difficulty his lawyers could find. He ended up running unopposed the lawyers threw out so many she was disqualified to run.

When Palin and McCain win in a landslide I hope they open up a hunting season on bogus journalists who decide they are going to write a story irregardless of the facts which are that Palin did not authorize this moron to go to DC to talk to Murkowski about this program, and a routine travel voucher with a signature doesn't change that.

The homosexual leftist and minor league propagandist ROOD decided he had a story and let fly and why not, after all there are plenty of imbeciles out there who think this means something.

HUSSEIN the muslim commie is going down, and so is the leftist media.

Here he is, minor league propagandist for the socialist party that calls itself Democrat,Justin Rood

My take here: ABC News Slimes Sarah Palin

When I first read this “exclusive report” my first reaction was, “You’re shitting me, right?” Upon re-reading I now realize that it’s a classic example of the kind of slimy innuendo that the MSM has been throwing at Sarah Palin since her candidacy was announced. The members of the MSM who are determined to insure that their candidate will win this November are piling it deeper and higher in the hopes that a general cloud of doubt will form and a young and accomplished woman will be consigned to the ash-heap of history.

In this context it seems that ABC has authorized a travel budget that is aimed at making disparaging and untrue statements about Governor Palin for the purpose of derailing her campaign. I wonder if it says that in the travel vouchers at ABC?
