DDoS stands for Distributed Denial of Service.
Denial of Service occurs when you flood a system with so many requests that it’s interfaces to the Internet can’t handle the traffic.
This, in effect, makes it unavailable.
DDos is when a group of systems coordinate their attacks upon a particular targeted system.
It’s not a method that requires a great deal of skill.

Let me get this straight - because some state Democrat’s bratty grown son hacked into an email account illegally it’s okay since he didn’t have to go to that much trouble, and Bill O’Reilly only criticized the criminal because the email account happened to belong to a Republican political figure, and now he’s a target himself because of doing so?
Anything to do with his politics, do you think?
People have suggested that this hacking incident was all staged by Republicans, so that they can further portray Palin as a huge victim, and further bash Democrats. That seems like a ridiculous suggestion to me, but...

We used to do pranks when I was a kid. We were stupid and we would have deserved to get whupped, but we never got caught. The worst thing we did was late one night we crawled under the cover of a neighbor’s boat and reversed the steering cable going back to the outboard.
What these jerks are doing is far worse, because they are shutting down a business, or at least part of a business.

Did anyone have any problems getting on FR this week? I had trouble three different nights at the same time frame (around 8p-8:45p CST hour)each night. No lie - it never would pull up. Later these same nights I could get on....finally. Could FR be targeted or could it just be me, the user? :)I have experienced high traffic and slow sign ons but this has been different. I had my husband try on his computer and he couldn’t either......
