John McCain shifted gears in Iowa today and reminded voters in Cedar Rapids that he predicted the outcome of the credit crisis two years ago, and few bothered to act. McCain also aggressively painted Barack Obama as a prime example of do-nothing politicians co-opted by lobbyist money. His speech pointed out the amount of money Obama has received from Fannie/Freddie donors and the advisers he uses that helped create the crisis (emphases mine):
Senator Obama talks a tough game on the financial markets but the facts tell a different story. He took more money from Fannie and Freddie than any Senator but the Democratic chairman of the committee that regulates them. He put Fannie Maes CEO who helped create this disaster in charge of finding his Vice President. Fannies former General Counsel is a senior advisor to his campaign. Whose side do you think he is on? When I pushed legislation to reform Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, Senator Obama was silent. He didnt lift a hand to avert this crisis. While the leaders of Fannie and Freddie were lining the pockets of his campaign, they were sowing the seeds of the financial crisis we see today and enriching themselves with millions of dollars in payments. Thats not change, thats whats broken in Washington.

GO MCCAIN! POUND THE LITTLE PUKE!
Especially when all the signs were pointing to a Wall St. issue weeks ago. This should have been prepared and ready to go when rumors surfaced that Mae and Mac were collapsing...
Atta Boy Johnny!!!
We need to keep lobbing those 105’s over. Circular error at 0. DUCK!!!!
God Bless McCain & Palin
“The Sleeper Has Awakened!”
“Long live the fighters!”
When AIG was bailed out, I didnt like it, but I understood it needed to be done to protect hard working Americans with insurance policies and annuities. Senator Obama didnt take a position. On the biggest issue of the day, he didnt know what to think. He may not realize it, but you dont get to vote present as President of the United States.
keep slamming the Dhimms, wallop Al-Baraq upside of the head with his dirty politics, closet Islamic beliefs, and lies, tie Michelle to the Dahomey tribe, fight, fight, fight!
For crying out loud....we already term limit the POTUS....
It's way past time to term limit the royalty in both houses.
Neither did Pontius Pilate.
Maybe it was because he and his campaign wanted to make absolutely sure that his statements are irrefutable.
Hopefully, as the various allegations against Group 0 are double and triple checked for accuracy, we'll see a stinging attack from our side.
I think he should try to narow the gap there. After all, it was Iowa who launched the Messiah.
Pound, pound, pound. Commercials should be running like crazy in battle ground states on this and I’d hit New York as well just to remind those people in that state is now hammered because the Dems sat by and screwed the pooch.
Oh, my.
Actually, I think it’s great that he waited. Because it gave Obama a chance to get out there and run his mouth, making fun of McCain, presenting himself has the answer, and then BOOM.
Because it really takes two days to get all the facts together, put together the response, and boil it down to a few key hard hitting points that are on target and defensible. In fact two days is fast.
??? Those are not my words. Was your response intended for someone else?
Go John, Go! We want to see you go after the very things you said you are going to Washington to do. Now’s the time to practice! We all know greed brought this crisis, we just need someone to point it out, spell it out,and reveal the who, what, when, why and how. This is about justice for the taxpayers.
YES! Send McCain campaign money NOW for more ads specifically on this!
Great stuff, exactly the message McCain needs to get out.
However, I think a TV ad is urgently needed. The MSM is never going to report that its Messiah is in the pocket of the crooks who have nearly destroyed our Financial system and economy.
Excellent - now let’s get it into an ad.
Yes! I say, John: pin the tail on every donkey that had their hand in this huge pie! We want to hear them scream!
