In Oregon, Obama Leads By Only Four Points
Rasmussen Reports ^ | 9-17-08 | staff

Repeating a pattern seen across the country, John McCain has gained ground on Barack Obama in Oregon. In August, before the running mates were selected and the conventions held, the Democrat enjoyed a ten-point lead in this traditionally “Blue” state. Now, however, McCain has pulled to within four points with results that are virtually identical to the actual Oregon vote in Election 2004.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Oregon voters shows Obama attracting 51% of the vote while McCain earns 47% (see crosstabs). This is the seventh Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in Oregon for Election 2008, and it’s the closest that McCain has ever been. Four times, Obama has enjoyed an eight-to-10 point lead, and once he was up by 14.

Let’s hope the conservatives can vote by the droves and outvote the liberals in Oregon! The prospect of winning Oregon & Washington is exciting!

Not a bad showing for McCain, but Obama is polling a majority of the vote rather than a plurality. I’m surprised at the low number of undecideds.

This is now extremely consistent and McCain can cruise to a somewhat big win (20-30 EVs) if . . . IF . . . he pins this financial mess on Obama and the Dems by naming names.

"Reform" ain't going to do it: he needs to explain who needs "reformin'".

Oregonians are now mostly from California. Figure it out.

Truly amazing. If I’m working for the McCain/Palin camp (and I am available for hire) I would still look at this and say “let’s still act as though we’re 10 down nationally and down at least that much in every state. Why just beat Hussein when you can run up the score on them?”

I’m hoping that McCain/Palin will actually come here to Oregon. I would love to see them!

Kerry beat Bush by 4% in 04. I do not see Barry getting that same margin but I would hesitate to think that OR would go for McCain, unless it is a landslide early and then the West states domino.

If Christians actually get off their butts and vote like they say they believe, this election will be a landslide.

I agree 100% Larry. He said he would name names once elected to expose the earmark pigs at the trough. By cleaning up Wall St., I hope he doesn't ask us to do community service and take a broom there. /sarcasm

Agreed! It could also help if McCain & Palin do a couple of campaign stops in Oregon & Washington......

LOL. Nothing sets me off like the term “service” when used in a forced or required situation. The military is an OBLIGATION when you have a draft; it is SERVICE when it is voluntary!!

Don’t be suprised by the polls. I have a feeling they are not still reflecting true numbers. Most people under 30, only have cell phones and don’t get polled. They will go Obama because he is going to pay for their college, put money in their banking account, get the a date with Jennifer Annison, legalize pot............... and rock concerts for the world 7 days a week.

The cell phone claim has been debunked by numerous pollsters.

I keep hearing that the rats will pull one in October with Biden claiming a ficticious health problem, bringing the hildabeast to the rescue of the VP ticket~

Biden’s ego would never allow it...remember, he has a cushy Chair position to return to if Obama can’t win. Obama on the other hand....not so much.

State trends are looking very good for the most part, but we’ve only just started the 4th quarter, and I’m sure some dirty tricks are still up the sleeves of the Obama-bin-Biden campaign and the complicit Press.

McCain needs to start fighting back on the economy — specifically, asking “why is Obama the second largest recipient of FNMA & FHLMC campaign cash?” .. “why should taxpayers have been responsible for bailing out those two organizations which were being run by ex-Clintonistas and other DimoRATS?” .. “why was Obama-uh-uh-uh one of the largest recipients of campaign cash fromthe now-defunct Lehman Brothers?” .. start asking questions about the Biden Boyz and Andrew Cuomo ..

It’s time to start calling out Obama-bin-Biden for the fact that they and Nazi Pelousy and Harry “We’ve Lost” Reid and their DIM Party pals are largely responsible for the financial mess we’re in now!

Let’s not sit back and enjoy the polls, let’s fight like we’re 21 points behind!! It’s time for the “two-minute drill!” Fight, Fight, Fight!!
