On the heels of media reports that Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin was using a private Yahoo e-mail account (gov.palin@yahoo.com) to conduct Alaska state business, hackers have broken into the account and posted evidence of the hijack on Wikileaks.
An activist group calling itself ‘anonymous’ claimed responsibility for the compromise and released screenshots, photographs and the e-mail addresses of several people close to Palin, including her husband Todd and assistant Ivy Frye.

Maybe before you tell us all how stupid Gov. Palin is you should wait for some facts.
Like does she really use Yahoo email, does she conduct government business on Yahoo, does she post government files to Yahoo.
You’re jumping to a lot of conclusions.
This looks real folks - at least at first pass.
All the zipped files including all the emails, photos, addresses and family pics are on-line at Wikileaks. Hoping this is just a very clever spoof.

Yahoo is pretty well run from a tech side. Their email is more dependable than many other organizations.
Users usually bypass the official systems because they are too difficult to use or undependable. I agree she shouldn’t be using yahoo for official business but that doesn’t mean people should be blackmailing her.
It may also have been a tool to reach out to people with something easy to remember.

Most of the ‘email’ seems to be personal in nature. Includes blurry picture of Bristol and Trig on a plane, list of emails with dates, subjects, size an all her contacts, which also appear to be real.
Yes, she uses Yahoo. This has been well reported.

I suspect some IT staffer in Alaska government dug this up at the request of some angry good-old-boys who had their subpeonas handed back to them.
The only safe way is encryption, from your computer to theirs.
I looked on a hackers forum and it appears that someone hacked, posted the password, and a good Samaritan hacker then logged in a reset the password. Apparently they didn’t get more than a few messages before this occurred.

From what they have posted, it only makes her look better. They must be heartbroken.
But from follow up links and further research at wikileaks does look to be legit and not made up.
However that said I don't think it was her primary gov email. Much like my gmail mail while does get some work related stuff while I'm on the road it is not my primary work email.
This looks more like a private email account and not her work one.
Either way it is still a felony to hack and intercept it.
Take it as a compliment that so many who are evil are out to destroy her. Jesus provides the reason for the hatred:

Notice that knowing the truth makes you responsible for it, and they HATE that idea of being unappealably responsible for their behavior.
