Is it just me? I think Palin immediately recognized the "Bush Doctrine" question for exactly what it was - a trap? (Pretty quick of her). At that point, Charlie was reeking smugness and superiority! She knew the doctrine is defined in many ways, so whichever definition she went with, it would be construed as ignorance. All she did was ask him (twice, by the way) to define his question.

If Sen Clinton had won the nomination, Sarah Palin would not have had the same effect on this election as she is currently having.
Remember, Sen Clinton can still run in 2012 for the top spot, not second fiddle like Sarah Palin. Therefore, there is one more glass ceiling to break (or so Hillary and the MSM will say).
Of course, Sen Clinton may have to face VP Palin.....(I hope)

While I agree with essentially everything you posted, my understanding is that Hilary was indeed the selection of those feminists, but was shunted aside with vigor for the 0bama pick as a matter of party enforcement. Roger Hedgecock broadcast the story of two gals, longtime Dem activists, who bought an RV and drove cross-country to attend the Dem conv. in Denver. Once there, they were told in no uncertain terms by party operatives their vote would go to 0bama or their delegate career would be over. They were heartbroken, blew out of the convention, drove to St. Paul, and switched their affiliation to Rep. It is that disappointment, that hatred, that sense of betrayal that is now focused against the GOP. Oh well, logic never was their strong point.
Hillary Clinton is in fact an incredibly capable, brilliant woman. She is also unethical, dishonest, and vindictive.

Palin's kind of grit and savvy is akin to a frontier story: a young woman who was raised in a land of big sky and the midnight sun, a metaphor of sorts for being able to spot trouble a long way away.

I grew up in a small town with only one TV channel and that wasn’t on it.
A commentary of courage - this woman will get more than her share of not just dirty looks from her peers but probable social ostracism.
But will also receive a lot of admiration from her readers - and actually from some of her peers.
I thought about being a feminist once but it just wasn’t worth being that unattractive. ; )
