Sorry if this vanity is not appropriate.
I am passionate about this election. I know we should be doing a lot more than just this...but, Does planting a McCain-Palin Yard Sign and applying a McCain-Palin Bumper Sticker help the cause at all? What's your experience? Has there been any studies on this?
I don’t know if they do anything, but I know when I see an Obama yard sign or a bumpersticker, I feel irritated. I’ve got the signs in my yard, and stickers on my truck to just pi$$ off the leftist hordes. Plus I get lots of dirty looks when I pull into Starbucks. Commie rage makes my coffee taste better.
I dont know about everyone else,
but Im always curious about what kind of kook is driving the car with the 0bama sticker on it. Ill get next to them to take a peek.
Usually a young kid.

I’ve been doing the same thing for years. LOL
I live in NJ, so I’ll tell you what I see when I pull up for a peek.
Large percentage = Bearded, bespectacled “I’m the intellectual, professor type and I read the NY Times every day”
Smaller percentage = Unattractive women, I have yet to see a good looking woman with a dem bumper sticker this election season.
Smallest percentage = Kids
For what it's worth, I've read the same thing, a few years ago.
In the recesses of my mind I envision getting a bouquet of leftist stickers and putting them on news vans when I see them parked.
You sir, are a genius.
LOL, sounds like someone who replaced their Ron Paul sticker with an Obama one..
My house and yard are not expensive, but well kept.
There is 1 0bama yard sign in my neighborhood - and no kidding - his lawn and yard are the worst in the neighborhood.
In the Kansas City area, it’s the other way around.
More kids, fewer “academics”.
“I dont know about everyone else,

I do the same. Usually a butch woman or young prep.
Where I lived most of my voting life one fears for ones life displaying a bumper sticker or yard sign not approved by the central committee and their brownshirts. If I put out a sign in San Francisco I have no doubt that I would suffer property damage at the very least. I would also expect to be approached outside my door by stalkers waiting all day at my front door to confront me and possibly physically attack me. I like my car and can’t afford to replace it or my tires so I don’t do bumper stickers. Supporting the GOP in San Francisco has to be a private matter that you don’t even tell your neighbors about. To understand you have to imagine being a Christian in an Arab country or a Jew in Nazi Germany in the late 30s. San Francisco leftists are as radical as they get with a Mayor and city council to support them. I know what freedom is after being fearful all my life as I now enjoy it in Southern California after moving from the bay area.
Good question. Because my children (ages 5 and 2) have so many friends in the neighborhood, I am not interested in talking politics with their parents. We all seem to have similar values or interests when it comes to our families, but I know most if not all of them are voting democrat.

I forgot to add, I still have a toddler in diapers, I my go that route.
The slow start for for McCain is the Obama people did not need to wait for a VP. However I don't know any Republican that wanted to put up a McCain sign without the Palin name on it. And those McCain Palin signs are hard to come by in many states. Swing States come first don't you know.
I am driving 100 miles round trip to pick up 2 signs on Tuesday. They are that hard to get here in WA.
In my neighborhood I have seen 2 houses with Obama signs. Right after the RNC, one of those came down and the person put up a Clinton/Gore 96 sign in its place. PUMA?
AND THE BEST REASON TO PUT A PALIN STICKER ON YOUR CAR: CHICK MAGNENT
I got my bumper stickers early from cafepress. One McCain/Palin and the other “Sarah-Cuda”. So far I have got 2 dirty looks from lefties. And from Women passing me I got about 6 nods with friendly smiles. Uhhhh but don't tell my wife, OK?
Nah! Just a lonely Meta-Proctologist!
BTW, I’ll bet the teenage boys who WILL be vandalizing my signs, will be getting the poison ivy in more places than just their hands! Rhymes with hands, though!
LOL. ...that a fact, huh?
“In the recesses of my mind I envision getting a bouquet of leftist stickers and putting them on news vans when I see them parked.”
That is funny! Would be mighty fitting!
Boosting morale is important in political campaigns because people tend to support a winner and work harder when an election seems close and winnable, as suggested by visible levels of support for a candidate.
In addition, yard signs are a form of personal endorsement that can sway people who know the homeowner. Declared adherents of a candidate — meaning people with yards signs or whose views are otherwise known — are often consulted by undecideds on issues and as to reasons to vote one way or the other.
Finally, declared adherents often serve as an informal point of contact with a campaign by passing out literature, yard signs, and bumper strips, recruiting volunteers, and raising money. Even when a declared adherent simply explains how to help a campaign, they serve to recruit new help.
