Developing: On September 12's "View" co-host Whoopi Goldberg inquired of Senator John McCain, "do you want me to be a slave?"
The question was spurned by the Senator's stance on Roe v. Wade. When McCain answered he supports judges who support the original intent of the Constitution, Whoopi drew a slavery comparison.
The “correct” answer (which would of course guarantee losing the election but it would be funny) is: can you cook?
I watched it (and wiped myself down with iodine)
They did marvelously! John and Cindy were grace personified.
And as someone on the live thread said, if the Vietcong couldn’t break him, these harpies will get NO where.
Babs actually looked peeked halfway through.
Red in Blue PA: Whoopi Goldberg Is a ‘Very Stupid Woman’
Perhaps she was implying that motherhood is the equivalent of slavery, and abortion liberates women from bondage.
You can’t fix stupid, but you could at least rearrange it by slapping her upside the head!! Good grief!
Proposed response: “If I was interested in enslaving people, Whoopie, I would become a Democrat”...
In a way, I really feel sorry for people like Whoopie.
It must be hell to get up every morning and go about your day saddled with a thousand pounds of rage, guilt and anger.
How pathetically sad.
McCain: “No. I want to extend to the unborn the rights delineated in the 14th Amendment, an amendment you. of all people, should hold dear.”
Here’s what he should have said:
“You know what, hummmm... I never thought of that - now that you mention it. Actually, I despite the fact that I believe that you are an ‘intelligent person’, I don’t think that you are qualified to be a ‘slave’.”
He should have explained the difference between an Amendment to the Constitution (13th) and the decision of some people in robes (Roe v. Wade).
Someone shuld tell Whoppi that that is more a possiblity with the Dems in control since they are the ones who created the Klan, Jim Crow laws, and were against the Civil rights act of 1964. Lincoln was a republican!
I disagree, you can't win elections by just 'preaching to the choir' the whole time. And by showing your opponents to being the idiots they truly are can only help.
MCCain did good on “the Spew”. He put Big red in her place as well, and openly challenged Obama to debate him on the show. Even though he has repeatedly refused to meet and debate in town hall meetings.
Whoopie, Whoopie, Whoopie.......
Girl, the dems threw you under the bus after the Kerry convention.....
Not one of them came to your defense.....
Some people just never learn.......
Why exactly is McCain going on these shows?
I mean, does he really think this gets him votes!
I would have responded with: 300,000 white men died so you wouldn’t have to be a slave.
I’d like to solve the puzzle....
My thoughts exactly.
