Sept. 9, 2008 | John McCain announced that he was running for president to confront the "transcendent challenge" of the 21st century, "radical Islamic extremism," contrasting it with "stability, tolerance and democracy." But the values of his handpicked running mate, Sarah Palin, more resemble those of Muslim fundamentalists than they do those of the Founding Fathers. On censorship, the teaching of creationism in schools, reproductive rights, attributing government policy to God's will and climate change, Palin agrees with Hamas and Saudi Arabia rather than supporting tolerance and democratic precepts. What is the difference between Palin and a Muslim fundamentalist? Lipstick.
McCain pledged to work for peace based on "the transformative ideals on which we were founded." Tolerance and democracy require freedom of speech and the press, but while mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, Palin inquired of the local librarian how to go about banning books that some of her constituents thought contained inappropriate language. She tried to fire the librarian for defying her. Book banning is common to fundamentalisms around the world, and the mind-set Palin displayed did not differ from that of the Hamas minister of education in the Palestinian government who banned a book of Palestinian folk tales for its sexually explicit language. In contrast, Thomas Jefferson wrote, "Our liberty cannot be guarded but by the freedom of the press, nor that be limited without danger of losing it."

These guys all look alike.
The Obam_Ahh train has left the tracks!
By Golly, Jeepers Creepers.
I do hope these dopes keep this up.
Keep up comparing all Governors to Pontius Pilate.
Keep on comparing Jesus Christ to Barack Obama.
Keep on comparing God-fearing Christians to Muslim fundamentalists - especially a good one since he compared the Palins to that group. Did Sarah and Todd take Bristol out in the middle of the night and honor kill her?
Keep on having Barack Obama claim that maybe the terrorists who attacked us 7 years ago had some fundamental reasons to hate us.
Yikes! These folks actually think we should elect them to lead us in the 21st century??
I caught that interview too. So comforting to know he is filling those minds of mush with this kind of garbage up there at UofM....
Every time an American woman puts on lipstick she will remember Obama’s comment.
Q: What do radical feminists, radical Islamists, Black panthers, anti-war radicals, and Barack Obama have in common?
A: They all have been comfortable calling people, “pigs.”
"...The question is whether Web-log commentary helps or damages an academic's career. It is a shameful question. Intellectuals should not be worrying about "careers," the tenured among us least of all. Despite the First Amendment, which only really protects one from the government, most Americans who speak out can face sanctions from other institutions in society. Journalists are fired all the time for taking the wrong political stance. That is why most bloggers employed in the private sector are anonymous or started out trying to be so..."
Even though the tone of this statement seems to be taking the contrary viewpoint, it is easy enough to see he IS one of these dumbass Ivory Tower intellectuals who think people paying for a college education or watching a newscast should, as a reward, be forced to swallow his anti-American and liberal intellectual pap because he views his job as a podium from which to trumpet his asinine views. Kind of like a member of the Dixie Chicks teaching at an Ivy League college.
His phrase "...most Americans who speak out can face sanctions from other institutions in society..." speaks volumes about him.
News flash, you moron. Even us rubes in Middle America know that there is freedom of speech carries responsibilities, but does not protect us from the freedom of others not to have to pay your stupid salary to be forced to listen to your garbage.
This is another case of the utter arrogance of liberalism.
He's been pimping Islam for ages
He is tenured at Michigan
He slanders Israel on a regular basis.
His office is in a building endowed by the (Jewish) Tisch family
Professor of History

University of Michigan
Ann Arbor, MI 48109-1003
You forgot, of course, the Manson Gang.
The’re scared bigtime. I can smell Juan’s fear from here, and actually it smells GOOD!
This idiot, and all those like him, are really saying: “What’s the difference between good and evil? Lipstick.”
Moral relevance has so neutered their minds that their intelligence is completely impotent.
Well, this was the goal of the Frankfurt School.
Autumn ... when the nuts start to fall from the trees
Cheers!
.......These guys all look alike......
They look like their women.
De De Meyers was made up to look like this for appearances on TV during the convention.
A little lipstick would help to tell the females from the males (there are no men or women)
“Thomas Jefferson wrote, “Our liberty cannot be guarded but by the freedom of the press, nor that be limited without danger of losing it.””
Freedom of the press is often hid behind by those who mistakenly believe they have been endowed with unchallengeable wisdom, and an unquestionable right to snipe at those with whom they disagree. Thank God we still have the right to fire back.
Sarah Palin is the litmus paper that exposes the liberals as the barking moonbats we’ve always known they are. Put this assclown on the front pages of the papers, we need to show the mushy middle just what’s at stake in this election.
