Obama poked fun of McCain and Palin's new "change" mantra.

"You can put lipstick on a pig," he said as the crowd cheered. "It's still a pig."

"You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It's still gonna stink."

"We've had enough of the same old thing."

The crowd apparently took the "lipstick" line as a reference to Palin, who described the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull in a single word: "lipstick."

In fairness to Barack Fitzgerald Obama, I don’t think this was an off the cuff street punk remark. I’m sure that:

A. He didn’t write this and
B. It was run past 8 campaign advisors and 2 focus groups

I hope they don’t get fired. He is getting horrible advice from them and I wish they would keep up the bad work.

Really, the McCain camp just needs to stand aside and let Obama camp explain explain explain.

If our side was saying stuff like this, I’d be groaning. We all know this stuff plays bad. Obama and Biden are losing it.
