Obama to Palin: 'Don't Mock the Constitution'
By Peter Slevin
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- Sen. Barack Obama delivered an impassioned defense of the Constitution and the rights of terrorism suspects tonight, striking back at one of the biggest applause lines in Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin's speech to the GOP convention.
It was in St. Paul last week that Palin drew raucous cheers when she delivered this put-down of Obama: "Al-Qaeda terrorists still plot to inflict catastrophic harm on America and he's worried that someone won't read them their rights."
Obama had a few problems with that.

“He is just breath-takingly stupid. These people are not covered under the constitution.”
Nice. Two great observations, genxer.
The guy is rattled. I swear. Isn’t anybody in that campaign in charge? Why do they let him continue to go after SP? Is that a strategy? A top secret mystery weapon? Or . . . plain dumb?
Agreed, and that’s why I called it a dilemma. We really don’t want to put our troops in the position of having to make that decision, when they’ve got lots more things on their minds.
Someone should inform him that the Constitution is an American document with the purpose of protecting the rights of Americans against tyranny, not the “rights” of Al-Qaeda terrorists to be treated as our fellow citizens.
Michelle beats his a## when he gets home at night. He’s ruining her chance to be queen.
Time will tell. He's delivering a clunker a minute these days. I wonder if by the time the debates come around he's going to be pretty much unhinged.
In his first full day after losing the lead he had in the polls.
OBAMA:
1. Goofs and says “My Muslim Faith”
2. Comes out for the rights of terrorists in the Constitution?
Yeah, this guy can handle the pressure, this is the guy I want answering the call at 3 AM, to deliver my FREAKIN PIZZA!
while were at it, neither does the geneva convention.Good point!
Miranda rights is merely telling a suspect that he has 5th amendment protections unless he willingly waives them. The 5th does not speak of citizens. “No PERSON shall...., nor shall any Person be subject for the same offense...., nor shall be compelled in any criminal case....
It speaks of persons throughout not citizens. All have the right to due process of law. Of course, terrorists have access to a different due process than persons not at way with us.
What he means is the British common law, on which our legal system is based (except for Louisiana's state law, which is based on the French statutory law system - go figure).
I nominate yours for Logical Conclusion Post of the Day.
I shudder to think what garbage this lightweight stuffed into the heads of his unfortunate students.

Obama wouldn’t know the constitution if it bit him on the ass.
This guy continuously, inadvertently links himself to Islam. He also said recently that Hamas and Hezbollah "have legitimate complaints". And now that he's made this "Barak the bomber" statement following his other interesting comment about "---- MY muslim faith--", it has become fair game for his opponents to ask whether or not he's a Muslim, or whether he feels emotionally linked to Mohammedism because his father was Muslim and sent Barak to an Islamic school as a child. He seems to hold Islamic interests more dear to his heart than most of us.
Or it might be Barack the guy who hangs out with William Ayers the bomb thrower. See, ya never know.
When was the last time the American voter needed consider this fact regarding a serious Presidential candidate? Strange times.
It’s the Demagogues who have mocked the US Constitution for decades, reading into it anything they want to find there to carry their political positions into so-called “constitutional law.”
You want to talk about mockery, Obambi? Your version of so-called “constitutional law” is the mockery.
Has anyone heard from any of the students he supposedly taught?
