Governor Sarah Palin! Or, actually, what she signifies.
We've often stated on FR that if the Republicans would only run true conservatives then we'd win more elections. We'd keep the White House, build conservative majorities in congress, replace liberal activist judges with original intent constitutionalists, and eventually overturn Roe v Wade and begin rolling back some of the damage inflicted upon our beloved republic by the socialists and liberals.
John McCain's bold choice of the unabashed pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-liberty, small government, strong defense, fiscal conservative, Sarah Palin, signifies a return to conservatism within the Republican Party.
And the fact that Republicans and conservatives of every stripe, including the Christian right are flocking to her side and that the conservative grassroots has been re-energized literally overnight is proof that when offered the choice of truly conservative candidates, conservatives and Republicans will react accordingly.
Even though I've stated in the past that I would not vote for McCain, I will be supporting this ticket. Governor Palin is a God-fearing, kick butt conservative and I'd much rather have her advising and standing in the wings for the presidency than Joe Biden. I'll definitely pull the lever for her. And I'll do all I possibly can to keep the America-hating Marxist Barack Hussein Obama out of the White House.
Do it for Life. Do it for Liberty. Do it for our troops. Do it for America!
Agreed. 2 months ago I said I would never vote McCain. This IS the ticket of change. My Maverick/Barracuda bumper stickers have already been ordered.
I would have preferred Petraeus/Palin, but I’ll settle for McCain/Palin.
Great post, Jim.
And let’s remember, if McCain-Palin wins, Sarah Palin will become a major player in the Republican Party for a couple of decades to come, even possibly becoming president.
I announced the same to my wife the Friday McCain announced her candidacy. Listening to her speech at the rally, I knew then and there it was a brilliant choice.
I still have to say I'm voting more for Palin than McCain, but it's our job to hold his feet to the fire on issues such as immigration and global warming. And I suspect with Sarah Palin at his side, he's going to be getting an earful anyway.
Does this mean we can look forward to a Palin/Robinson ticket in 2012?
LOL! Took ya long enough, soldier!
Good to hear. I was not a McCain supporter either.
But I have watched his campaign, the way he has conducted himself, and see that there is character there regardless of the fact I may disagree with him on some points.
Besides, between him and Obama, its a no brainer for me.
Hope you are feeling better too.
Now the real work begins.
As the fellow said: I am now proud to be a Republican, again.
BTTT
I understand your reasons and also know you won’t stop holding his feet to the fire. Personally I’m holding out for some kind of indications of what kind of cabinet he’s going to pick.
You should of supported him as soon as he became ‘heir’ purely because of the USSC issues that will come up in the next four years.
Welcome aboard.
Fight with me. Fight with me.
Fight for what’s right for our country. Fight for the ideals and character of a free people.
Fight for our children’s future. Fight for justice and opportunity for all.
Stand up to defend our country from its enemies. Stand up for each other, for beautiful, blessed, bountiful America.
Stand up, stand up, stand up, and fight.
Nothing is inevitable here. We’re Americans, and we never give up.
We never quit.
We never hide from history. We make history.
Thank you, and God bless you, and God bless America.
BUMP
It would be foolish for us to believe he will never ruffle our feathers again. Picking Palin was “putting the ball in our court”, so to speak. We have to support the ticket now.
“Do it for Life. Do it for Liberty. Do it for our troops. Do it for America!”
JR, that last part brought tears to my eyes, I too will be voting for McCain/Palin in November, without any reservations I might add.
Well old FRiend I too have come around. McCain is Mcain but I see hope for conservatives with Palin...Jindal.
When eating my crow I used a lot of tobasco sauce.
It feels good, doesn’t it? Kinda like the old Goldwater button...
“In Your Heart, You Know She’s Right”...
You had me at “Governor Sarah Palin”
Can we be sure there will not be a repeat of abandoning social conservatives after the election, as has happened before? Although it looks more promising now.
