MSNBC tried a bold experiment this year by putting two politically incendiary hosts, Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews, in the anchor chair to lead the cable news channels coverage of the election.
That experiment appears to be over.
After months of accusations of political bias and simmering animosity between MSNBC and its parent network NBC, the channel decided over the weekend that the NBC News correspondent and MSNBC host David Gregory would anchor news coverage of the coming debates and election night. Mr. Olbermann and Mr. Matthews will remain as analysts during the coverage.
The change which comes in the home stretch of the long election cycle is a direct result of tensions associated with the channels perceived shift to the political left.
The most disappointing shift is to see the partisan attitude move from prime time into whats supposed to be straight news programming, said Davidson Goldin, formerly the editorial director of MSNBC and a co-founder of the reputation management firm DolceGoldin.

OK...maybe I’ll watch then. I though Olbermann was in the booth.

That line to DU cracks me up! “oh, they’ll lose ratings now”, don’t they know MSNBC is already the lowest rated? Nowhere to go but up.
I can’t wait to see the reaction on DU if and when Rupert Murdock purchases the NY Times.

24. I guess we all could learn to read again. nt
I took the shuttle bus back to Minneapolis, and I overheard a convention organizer named Phil telling a convention delegate that the protesters on Wednesday night got through because of media credentials that were traced back to MSNBC (he told her that each credential has an individual bar code for each convention invitee). They suspect MSNBC this time as well.
Olbermann and Matthews were Clymers (everyone remember that one?) MSNBC ALWAYS finished last. Talk about a no-brainer.

22. Just shows how tightly owned the media is by the repukes and their lackeys.
I cannot believe that McSame had the nerve to file a complaint about MSNBC coverage...when every other network in the world is fawning and drooling over him...
If this isn’t Fascism...I don’t know what is...
If a player protests a play... or tries to lie about something..
Michaels will call it Clintonian lol..
Check!
Should there be a Freep email campaign of nice notes to NBC, thanking them for doing this?
Or is the conservative movement better off if more media outlets are allowed to show their true colors and descend into the abyss like MSNBC has done. It is interesting to see what happens when you take the minimal “try to be non-partisan” shackles off the liberal media and watch a place like MSNBC basically become DU.
Probably nothing but we're down two assclowns now.
