My feelings of Sarah Palins speech and actions.

Posted on 09/07/2008 3:10:32 PM PDT by Vafud

This topic is made to express my opinion of Sarah Palin and her speech over the Republican Convention, and responses to the stuff in the media. I hear a lot of words thrown around such as pregnant 17 year old daughter or irresponsible mother... please tell me you're kidding about this BS.

I can remember how she said "We tend not to prefer candidates who don't talk about us one way in Scranton, and another way in San-Francesco. As for my running mate, you can be certain that where ever he goes and whoever is listening, John McCain is the same man." and how "I'm not a member of the permanent political establishment, and I've learned quickly these past few days that if you're not a member in good standing of the Washington elite, then some in the media consider a candidate unqualified for that reason alone, but..*gets booed and waits*...But...*still being booed and waits*...No, here's a little news flash. *'NBC. NBC.' chanted in the background and she waits yet again* Here's a little news flash for those reporters and commentators.*background noise halts* I'm not going to Washington to seek their good opinion. I'm going to Washington to serve the people of this great country.*people cheering now instead of booing*" I just loved this. They were booing her and she stood there letting it go by, went on two or three seconds later and then just deliver a good saying. Does anyone know much about Norse or Germanic mythology? Think of the well known Thor, the strong, mighty and powerful Thor. Now think of his strong, mighty and powerful hammer Mjolnir. Now think of Thor, with Mjolnir, and He STILL couldn't have been powerful enough to strike those issues like she did.

And my favorite. When people found out about her having a pregnant 17 year old daughter, the "maim" stream media was having a field day. It was pretty much cover page of every newspaper. "We have been blessed with five wonderful children who we love with all our heart and mean everything to us. Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned. We’re proud of Bristol’s decision to have her baby and even prouder to become grandparents. As Bristol faces the responsibilities of adulthood, she knows she has our unconditional love and support." This was later followed with "Bristol and the young man she will marry are going to realize very quickly the difficulties of raising a child, which is why they will have the love and support of our entire family. We ask the media to respect our daughter and Levi’s privacy as has always been the tradition of children of candidates." These are the kind of comments that just hits home. If no one's noticed, there is a high number of 17 year old teenagers having sex and getting pregnant these days. Only difference I can see is that this time it happened to someone whose parent is on a Republican presidential ticket. And then the comment was great. It's like trying to choose what to do when life gives you lemons. I would probably get angry and upset and start mouthing off, thus drowning in the lemons. Others would try to force her to keep the child for publicity making lemonade. But Sarah has managed to take everything that was given to her, let her daughter decide what to do, and wham it back at her competitors by being honest...What does this mean?...Well in a sense it's sort of like she was given lemons...pulled out a serrated knife...cut the lemons in halves...Take two halves, and SHOVE the LEMONS into the MEDIA'S EYES, AND LAUGH in their FACE!!

This is just my opinion. I do admit I have no idea about how she has responded to the claims that she needs to take care of her children, but I guess any governor in her position would have to give up her nomination as possible vp and current job of governor when she has a perfectly capable husband who wouldn't have to worry about going out to fish if she were to become vp, but then would due to her losing her job as governor and loosing the election, since she obviously can't take care of the children otherwise, according to some.

By the way. For the sake of sanity and understanding, everything along the lines of *insert words here* is meant to be read as an action being acted out instead of something said, unless with a 'speaking' in it from other people that's not giving the speech but is still herd in the background. I got to say it the way it was recorded (though I do apologize if I made a grammar error. English isn't my strongest suit,).

I recognize that you’re fairly new here and that you’re also fairly young. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

But you might consider reading and commenting on other posts before you begin a series of extended vanity posts.

Just sayin’...

Welcome to FR.

Stick around, it's a good bet you can learn more useful stuff in four years on this site than at any undergrad institution in the country.

I just loved this. They were booing her and she stood there letting it go by, went on two or three seconds later and then just deliver a good saying.

Only one small problem with your assessment. They were booing the media. A talk show host was there and said that that audience turned as one and pointed to the MSNBC booth while booing.

Everything else you said was good!

Good post. But in the interest of accuracy, they weren’t booing her. They were booing the media that she had just mentioned.

But overall, good job.

Most of the time I'd agree with you, but this young individual nailed it on the first try!

This should be moved to “Chat” or “Bloggers” I think. It’s not “News.”

Your content is fine; just posted in the wrong forum. Welcome to FR.

All I can tell you is that One man stood for Liberty in the ashes of destruction on 911 and that great man is George W. Bush. He has had the vision and foresight (Which includes the invasion of Iraq and the removal of the known threat in Saddam Hussein) to have ACTED. Action is the best politics of any time. Now we have a choice today. We can believe in a bunch of Talk, Nice words, Civil Rights era Rhetoric, Marxist Socialist Change that Obama brings again Obama speaks intelligently about the issues and the direction that he would take the country but it is Words. No deeds, never once standing up to his own partisan politics I ask how is that change that we can belive in. The country will not come together to support a Far Right nor a Far left Agenda but the Country can come together to support Change. Leave no doubt that the politics in D.C. is broken, our government does need Change on that point alone I agree with Obama. The change that Obama speaks of has embodied itself in the form of a Woman governor from the State of Alaska. She is the Change that Obama is talking about only he is too foolish to realize it. Great men, heros, are selflessly devoted to country and advancement of all people. There is only one Great man running for the Presidency in this election and the proof that he is a great man is in the Wisdom that he has brought forth another Great person Sarah Palin. He has given the Conservatives in this coutnry the future and he will be supported in the Present. Again welcome to FR and stick around awhile because you will learn alot here.

Your effort, and concern over making your point clear, overrides any grammar errors.

I’m not disagreeing with the context of the post.

But you know as well as I that the closer we get to the election the more new posters, more vanities and (while it doesn’t apply to this poster) more trolls.

That’s all I’m sayin’.

You can’t move it; the Mods have to. You also can’t go in and edit anything you post, so you need to slow down and get it right the first time around here. :)

Agree. They were with her already in excited anticipation and booing the media not her. I was watching the followup on CNN where they were talking about the media comment, not the booing. They didn’t have to tell us viewers because the cameras didn’t pan on the crowd during those um pregnant pauses, but they were booing and pointing to all the news outlet cameras mounted near/above where they were sitting.

Yep. But for a NOOB VANITY post, it’s pretty darn good.

Unlike most of the left side of the bell curve, whiny, uninformed, immature, troll-like vanities we have been getting.

I noticed that there have been multiple SARAH PALIN VANITY posts today.

Maybe it’s a developing trend. People can’t seem to resist proclaiming their best wishes for Sarah Palin.

You should know too, that at a convention like this—with all her fellow Republican party members, the NEVER booed her, they were booing who and what she was talking about...the News media elites.

Thanks for the advice. I guess I have been a bit to haste-full about all this. Guess it's like getting your first car and you can't wait to drive. Again, sorry for any inconveniences.
