ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Sen. Barack Obama's foes seized Sunday upon a brief slip of the tongue, when the Democratic presidential nominee was outlining his Christianity but accidentally said, "my Muslim faith."
The three words - immediately corrected - were during an exchange with ABC's George Stephanopoulos on This Week, when he was trying to criticize the quiet smear campaign suggesting he is a Muslim.
But illustrating the difficulty of preventing false rumors about his faith from spreading, anti-Obama groups within one hour of the interview had sliced it out of context and were sending it around via email. They also were blogging about it.

I actually was quite impressed with George Stephanopolis in that interview. I hate how O’Reilly acted like they were buddies. Obama stabbed O’Reilly in the back at the first opportunity. He is not your friend O’Reilly. He is not a ‘good guy’. Your own ambition and self importance is blinding you and many others.

As we can see with the Obama bots this projection based on varied takes on what he says can create a foundationlesss worshiping that do not deal with facts, foundation, or clarity. Atleast we know where John McCain and Sarah Palin are coming from and what exactly their experience is.
It is understandable you are questioning and bringing your own understanding to this. This is healthy and based in reality. Obama's ambiguity relys on other people doing the work to try to understand. Which means he is walking, talking confusion. Look. We have a whole thread on trying to figure it out.
Barack Obama Versus ReligionHe concludes that faith is a prejudice, used as a tool of attack, to belittle us. He makes reference, part way through, to the "church" in which he is speaking. I wonder what kind of church it is; certainly not what I'd call a church.
As an atheist, but as an American who fully supports the -essential- role that the Christian faith has always played in our public life, I find his views offensive and scary.
That being said, imagine the response at DUh...
Good, now let 'er rip!....
Excellent points!!!!
Leftist Obama Distorts the Bible, Attacks Christians
As a former liberal, let me make one thing very clear: any attempt to expose Obama on the basis of statements that could possibly be construed in a manner favorable to him is going to be counter-productive.
The quote of Obama's I'd most like the video for is when he promises not to take away people's guns, and says something to the effect that "Even if I wanted to, I don't have the votes in Congress." Had he made a statement like "Even if I wanted to, the Constitution wouldn't allow it", such a statement would have been innocuous, but the statement he actually made very clearly implies "If I somehow get the votes in Congress, I'm taking all your guns". And that statement, on video, would shine so brightly as to penetrate even densest Liberal Mind Fog.
The eyes tell it all...
You state that it will be counter-productive to try to expose Obama on the basis of his ambiguous statements, and then immediately go to trying to expose his anti-gun views on such basis.
How are you suggesting -would- be a productive way to expose him?
Wow! B.O. didn’t even act like a mistake was made. He was more like if you say so George.
His statement that, even if he wanted to ban all guns he don't have the votes in Congress, is not ambiguous. Even in my liberal days, I would have recognized that such a statement really means "I may not be able to get the votes in Congress to ban all guns, but if I can get those votes you bet I'll do it."
In the "my Muslim faith" case, there's a plausible and harmless explanation for what he meant. In the gun-ban case, there is no plausible good explanation for why he would regard a Congressional vote as the primary obstacle to a gun ban. Liberal Mind Fog Disorder may allow a person to craft some pretty amazing justifications for people's words and actions, but the gun-ban statement would go beyond its power.
But even your (sensible enough) explanation of his anti-gun position required more thought than one can usually expect to convey in a 10 second sound byte, which is I fear the median attention span of potential voters.
As others have noted, Obama intentionally confuses and obfuscates and complicates, so as to leave many with the comfortable sense that he agrees with them, and to avoid clearly presenting his own views, which likely most of us, even most Democrats, would strongly disagree with.
I think Sarah Palin is showing us all how to attack that. She's good!
LMAO yep the libs are this stupid.
