Republican Recycling
by David Harsanyi on September 6, 2008
This morning, Republicans tell me that a worker at Invesco Field in Denver saved thousands of unused flags from the Democratic National Convention that were headed for the garbage. Guerrilla campaigning. They will use these flags at their own event today in Colorado Springs with John McCain and Sarah Palin.
Before McCain speaks today, veterans will haul these garbage bags filled with flags out onto the stage with dramatic effect, no doubt and tell the story.

'Update' from Denver Post blogger, David Harsanyi.
September 6, 2008 :
UPDATE I: I [David Harsanyi?] just spoke with the person at Invesco who found the flags and he thinks both sides are exaggerating a bit. The person claims the majority of the bags with flags in them were near the trash, on a dock, and would have been thrown away. The person thinks it was probably an oversight by the Democrats rather than any nefarious plot against the flag. But the person doesnt believe anyone was coming to get them: The flags were there for a week and a day and no one came looking for them.

Comment: The photo on the right shows clearly that he placed the flag upside down and touching the floor deliberately. Check out how the stick is propped up against the chair. Not that he would have done it with the intent of disrespecting the flag, but rather that he apparently didn't care enough to give it much thought.-ETL
Note: this topic is from 09/07/2008. I think we all recall this now, this topic popped up during a search for something much different, but made me think once again how there are those who think McCain would have been no better. Thanks pjsbro.
Good idea.
Good idea.
NO, Kid Rock was wearing a shirt with the colors of Red, White and Blue............Big difference between a shirt of colors and an actual American flag.............Sheesh!
