Excerpt -

But Gov. Palin, in papers filed with the request for investigation, said she never knew the trooper had been disciplined until after she removed the commissioner over what she called a dispute over budget and other issues and his personnel files were made public. In the papers, she said the trooper since 2005 has continued to behave aggressively toward her family, taunting them "that he was a trooper and nothing would bring him down."

For example, Gov. Palin alleged the trooper confronted her daughter Bristol at a football game, calling her an obscenity.

The trooper threatened to murder her father.

Its 7 words GOP spokespeople. I can write them down for you if you need them. Or maybe you’d prefer this continue to be described as a “custody battle” yada yada.

sigh....

The McCain campaign needs a catchphrase ala Clinton circa 1998....this is just about domestic violence.

Notice the Sister first got a protective (restraining) order against the State Trooper.

You don’t just march down to the court house and get a restraining order from a State Trooper as the sister of Sarah Palin did without solid support the Trooper is endangering her & her family.

This Trooper’s Union appears to have tried to protect a rogue officer that had made physical threats against the Governor’s father and was stalking them.

This is BIG NEWS.

"The trooper threatened to murder her father"

Yes!! I cannot bear how the MSM once again just swallows and parrots leftist talking points. What garbage.

This a-hole Wooten better be careful now, though -- don' think the US Secret Service protective detail should be too tolerant of this guy's threatening antics.

“the trooper threatened to murder her father”

Yea, but this is what the democrats would call free speech(as long as it’s not against one of them).

It's unfortunate that the Union doesn't realize that by covering up this rogue trooper's behavior, they are putting the rest of the troopers lives in danger. And if his fellow troopers are part of the cover-up, then they are just as guilty as he is for condoning his behavior.

This is huge news. If a Trooper had threatened the life of my father and threatened to bring me down and then later accosted my daughter at a football game and cursed her out, I doubt I would have been as restrained as the Palin’s have been. The more facts that come out about this situation the more the Palin’s look like saints. Also of note that the cop has been married and divorced one more time (for a total of four times) since his divorce with Governor Palin’s sister Molly.

More on Wooten from the Anchorage Daily News (07/27/2008):

-snip-

It's significant that Wooten served for a while on the Special Emergency Reaction Team -- like a SWAT team, Cox [president of cop union] said. Officers have to be especially cool-headed to perform in crisis situations, Cox said.

Wooten was the first backup officer to arrive at the scene of a standoff in 2006 at the Valley trailer home of Donald Voorhis.

-snip-

The troopers' investigation into Wooten began after Chuck Heath -- Wooten's father-in-law and Palin and McCann's dad -- alerted troopers about a domestic violence protective order McCann had obtained against Wooten on April 11, 2005.

He has probably re-evaluated his strategy at this point.

Let there be no doubt, if this guy was not fired, the MSM would be complaining that Palin “did not do enough” to save her family because of her “political ambitions”.

They would be carrying on about the scandal about “what she knew” about this trooper, but refused to communicate up the ladder.

They will relentless attack this woman, no matter what, because she represents everything that they despise; honor, honestly, hard work and truthfulness in conservative politics.

Isn’t there a federal law that if one has a restraining order one can no longer be in possession of a firearm??? Of did this federal law get thrown out by a court in Texas a few years back???

Officer Wooten was driving his patrol car under the influence. This violation alone should be just cause to terminate his job with the state.

Liberals have no common sense....

Don’t know about that, but there is a federal law that says if you are found guilty of domestic violence you can’t carry a gun as an LEO. I would think using a taser on a 10 year old would probably fall under that category.

He has probably re-evaluated his strategy at this point.

Now he should go to the drive-by media and complain about how the EVIL GOVERNOR deprived his innocent self of his job as a simple upholder of the law. (Boo-hoo, boo-hoo.)

Watch for it.
