McCain presidential campaign strategist Steve Schmidt went on the record with the Washington Post's Howard Kurtz today, revealing the depths to which the mainstream media has sunk in their efforts to destroy the family of Republican vice presidential pick Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.
Schmidt said that the campaign has been deluged with demands from reporters that the Palin family submit to DNA testing to assuage baseless rumors promulgated by the Democratic party's favorite website, the Daily Kos.
Schmidt accused the media of being "on a mission to destroy" Sarah Palin.
Kurtz writes that Markos Moulitsas, the founder of the Daily Kos, believes the made up allegations against Palin and her daughter are legitimate. Kurtz fails to note that Moulitsas writes for the Post's sister publication, Newsweek.
Schmidt also said reporters are demanding to see the birth certificate for Palin's newborn.
The news media is treading on dangerous ground with their despicable behavior regarding the Palin family. They are arousing an anger in Americans all across the country who see themselves in the Palin family and are beyond outrage over how they have been trashed.
Someone just needs to slap them period.
Better be careful. DailyKos will lift that fake receipt and put it on their crazy website and say they have proof that she was stuffed in that picture.
I wonder how many deceased people will be contributing to the Democrats and voting Democrat this year?
Don't go by the polls; you don't know what question was really asked, nor how the analysis was structured.
I have yet to encounter a person since friday morning that isn't excited about Sarah Palin. As far as the public is concerned, she is the ticket. John who?
Sen. Obama's dad convinced his "mom" to fake a pregnancy for a small sum of money so that he could smuggle one of his Kenyan children into the U.S. and get U.S. citizenship for Barak, and through this anchor baby, for himself. Show me a picture of a pregnant Obama-mama. Let me see the real birth certificate. Let's see DNA evidence! We need to interview the obstetrician involved!! Where are the hospital records!!!
(Remember, this rumor started right here!)
That would be the way Obama plans to hunt down and persecute anyone who oppsed him in this election.
Obama's father had an agenda: to return to his home country and help reinvent Kenya. He wanted to take his new family with him. But he also had a wife from a previous marriage therea marriage that may or may not have been legal.
It's the marriage to Stanley Ann, BHO's mother, that was not legal. You can have mulitiple wives in Kenya, under sharia law, but you can't in Hawaii, now or then. It's called bigamy.
What???? OMG

Are you serious ? was that really done?
I don't want to get banned for what I am thinking!
Liberals + rope = less liberals
“51% of this country are now proven idiots if you go by the polls.”
a) it’s still early (believe it or not - only NOW are most people even beginning to start watching and following things);
b) it depends on which one (of MANY) polls you look at;
c) in this year, like NO other - the polls are wrong.
the secret (or not) is that a vast amount of people lie to these polls (even though they’re anonymous), saying they’ll vote for BHO, but they really won’t in the privacy of the booths.
oh, and d) - it’s important to look at the poll sampling criteria, as far as numbers of people AND the demographics.
Exactly. I never miss voting in any election...
I am still waiting to see Barack Obama’s Birth Cerificate.
Arguing that the media queries are being fueled by "every rumor and smear" posted on left-wing Web sites, Schmidt said mainstream journalists are giving "closer scrutiny" to McCain's little-known running mate than to Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama.
Just wait folks. About October, Larry Sinclair and the “Obama Cocaine/Gay Sex Sacandal” will resurface and the Michelle Obama video in which she speaks disparingly about “Whitey” will resurface.
The Dems will be beaten at their own game.
Something is very wrong with those poll numbers. I have been closely following the polls. After Obamas speech, where he should have gotten a pretty big bounce, according to the gushing media, McCain actually got a slight bounce. Then McCain picks Sarah Palin. The country goes wild. McCain gets 10 million dollars in donations overnight. The conservative movement finally comes on board the McCain camp. He should have gotten a bounce over that. But instead they are trying to tell us McCain lost 9 points in the polls? It just doesn’t feel right. Polls differing that much in such a short time usually follow something big. Obama lost ground after his convention speech. Where did his huge gain come from? Does this seem odd to anyone else?
Unfortunately, the Media only needs to convice about 5% of the voting public to make a difference in an election.
Seperated at birth?
