ST. PAUL, Minn. - And you thought the Clinton-Obama convention was a soap opera.
Enter stage (far) right: The Sarah Palin Chronicles.
John McCain’s VP choice was already the fastest-breaking curveball American politics had seen in a generation before this Reuters report:
“The 17-year-old daughter of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is pregnant, Palin said on Monday in an announcement intended to knock down rumors by liberal bloggers that Palin faked her own pregnancy to cover up for her child.”
“Faked” pregnancies. Teen sex. Government cover-ups. It’s like a bad episode of “Desperate Housewives,” except Gov. Palin is much hotter than Marcia Cross.
And she’s been the nominee for less than a week.
For normal people who don’t surf the fever swamps of the DailyKos and other liberal Web sites, the reference to faking a pregnancy has to do with a story invented by some lefty blogger that Trig Palin - Sarah’s newborn son who has Down syndrome - is actually the illegitimate son of the governor’s oldest daughter.
This idiotically offensive slur was demonstrably false - it took me less than 60 seconds to find a photo of a painfully-pregnant Gov. Palin from earlier this year - but pro-Obama activists like Andrew Sullivan and even some mainstream media outlets jumped on it.
And now, with the news of Bristol Palin’s pregnancy, the 2008 presidential campaign officially has more plot twists than an episode of “Lost.” It also has two legitimate stars: Barack Obama, descended from the heavens to heal our souls and deliver our nation; and Sarah Palin, who wandered in from the Alaska wilderness with a rifle under one arm and a baby in the other.

Remember, Bubba was Governor of Arkansas and Hillary was on committees. And her NY seat?? Minnie Mouse as a Dem could have won it. It wasn't a win, it was an appointment.
As for 18,000,000 cracks....How many women who didn't have a Prez for a husband have progressed to the ceiling as per Peter's Principle. That's billions and billions of cracks.

btw........the age of consent is 16 in Alaska. Guess the lefties didn't mention that. This is a non-story that's getting played-out over the course of 72 hours. Sarah's press release said it all. Her daughter will have a tough road.........but her Mom and Dad will offer love and support. Tough deal, but Sarah is handling this perfectly.

Palin has effectively satisfied the pro-lifers of both parties and muzzled the pro-choicers without ever speaking a word about it. Her actions trump words.

However, to tell you the truth, who cares about a used up plagiarizing selfagrandizing suck up senator who lives in a mafia infested state.
I saw him and had to turn the channel. His wife happened to be on Fox at the exact same time. Mary is a sharp lady and sees what Gov. Palin brings to the ticket.

People acting righteously always angers the wicked. This is what we’re seeing.
And, if you have any conversations on this, make sure to ask the question
“what’s morally superior, the girl getting married, having the child, and having the full support of her family, or the attitude of ‘wouldn’t want her to be punished with a baby’?”
A hardcore pro-abort will say they believe there’s no moral question involved, but they’d be lying, they know better.

Palin illustrates to the "me society" that taking the easy way out is not the way to be. That scares and/or offends most. Bill Clinton made them feel good about themselves. Adultery, boozing, associating with bad people, and just giving in to every desire was just fine if you are a Clinton fan.
