The Saints of the Free Republic have spoken — so must it be. Sarah Palin must step down. If Solomon were alive today, he would not qualify either, but that’s beside the point. The Saints of the Free Republic know what is good and proper. They shall tell us who McCain should replace her with.
In the meantime, a baby will be born in a loving household. Oh my goodness. Oh the shame! Perhaps the mother should enter a nunnery, and Sarah Palin should go with her. And perhaps John McCain should step down too. He should ask the Wise Ones who to endorse.

I think Palin will make a great VP. Everything I've heard from her makes me think that she will have the correct philosophy and judgment to do the job.

Two weeks ago was when we needed to know this. Maybe McCain told her not to say anything. Still as a parent she should have know, undoubtedly she did know this was gonna hit the fan politically.
I think she should have let the info out and defended her family’s stance and actions and THEN see if she was still selected.

Yes, conservatives do hold family values high on the list. But, I believe Palin, her husband, and her daughter are ‘practicing what they preach’. They are choosing life over abortion. How they handle adversity shows their integrity.

Please do not twist my words. A mother can absolutely serve her country. But Sarah Palin has to handle a newborn child with special needs, and an underage daughter that will not be able to raise her own baby without help.
A post of VP Sarah could probably handle with her current load of responsibilities. But consider that it is a very real possibility that she could be president before McCain’s term is finished. In a world where extremist madmen are looking to secure nuclear threats, an emboldened Russia seeks to regain her power, a socialist Europe slowly implodes and turns a cold shoulder to us, and an economy has been rocked by huge financial blows, I want a potential president (VP) to be clear and focused and ready to go from Day One. Because too much is at stake.
Honestly, is Sarah Palin such a person now, at this time in her life? Really? With all due respect, I would prefer she run for national office when these concerns in her life calm down.
I am pretty sure an old Warrior like McCain knew this was going to come out, AND that he had a counterattack worked out.

Actually, you are not quite being accurate there. We have never believed in attacking pregnant teenagers or their families. Nor have we said that any democratic politicians were unfit to serve due to the moral failings of their children. Your points about gay marriage and abortion are irrelevant here since neither an abortion or a gay relationship has even been alleged. Conservatives do support abstinance education but I don’t think that any conservative would argue that some teenagers won’t rebel and engage in pre-marital sex anyway. We just believe that less teenagers will engage in pre-marital sex when abstinance is taught then when promiscuity is encouraged by handing out free condoms in the schools. Additionaly, conservative christians have been very involved in being compassionate to unwed mothers. My sister for example volunteers in a crisis pregnancy center were she helps young mothers deal with unexpected pregnancies by providing counseling, parenting classes, and information on adoption; as well as providing baby clothes and just being a friend.
But I also read my newspaper every week with the birth announcements and in many cases 60-75% are out of wedlock.

I wish it had been done differently, but there are lots of ways to skin a cat and this time we will see how McCain does it.

The enemy is entering the political kill zone of the ambush and if I’m right, McCain is going to cause heavy damage to the obambibots.
I bet Bristol has more experience with taking care of a baby than I did when I had mine. I am sure she has done her share in helping care for her younger siblings. Bristol is a competent young lady, she will be fine, you make it sound like her mother is deserting her.
