ST. PAUL -- The 17-year-old daughter of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is pregnant, Palin said on Monday in an announcement intended to knock down rumors by liberal bloggers that Palin faked her own pregnancy to cover up for her child.

You need new glasses.
I don’t think you understand.
She won’t spend anytime talking about it nor should she have to. The statement was all they’re going to say and rightly so.
So again I say...SO?
NO!!! What gave you that idea?
I’ve been one of the biggest voices against Willard the Myth. As I am against all liberals.
LOL
The Palins have done nothing wrong. Their reactions to their daughter's situation have been principled, conservative and righteous.
You need to get a life.
I suggest that you leave here and go run down Palin on a liberal website like DU or The Daily Kos. They're buying into your horse manure over there, and you'll be among fellow doofuses.
“If the story is true, it just shows the Palins experiencing some of the same issues that many families, (voters) face today.”
I haven’t read all the thread, but I think you’re right. I think if they can sell it right they can win over many woman voters in that Palin is facing many issues REAL women face:
Abusive brother-in-law
Pregnant teenage daughter
Problem pregnancy
Involvement in school issues started her involvement
I’m sure there are others....
It could end up being very good. A lot of women would like to see someone who has these perspectives at the top.
Rule of thumb: Conservatives don't use the term "gubmint". Liberals mocking conservatives do.
Same goes for the phrase "family values".
I recommend to you Guennies’ post#1107 - but you did just as well. Thanks.
Kids do stuff you don't know about and wouldn't approve of if you did. Not sure what your family situation is, but if you have kids I guarantee there are things you don't know about them. Happens to every family in the world. My sister is married to a Baptist minister. Two of three daughters got pregnant out of wedlock. The babies were welcomed into both side of the family and both daughters are now happily married (one to the father of the child, the other not), devout Christians both.
NOBODY ever suggested that the Kennedys, Fords, Carters, Clintons, Gores or Bushes shouldn't be in office because they had minor children.
I'm sure that Todd Palin will be quite capable of being a stay-at-home father/grandfather, being the spouse of the vice president has NEVER been a highly visible position.
Wrong. We have a young lady (and man) who made a mistake. Out of that came a beautiful pro-life decision to welcome a human being, created by God, into their home. If they continue to open themselves to the grace of our Heavenly Father a wrong decision (to engage in pre-marital sex) will turn into a grace-filled life. No unwanted fruit here. Just a wonderful example of taking responsibility for one's actions.
Too bad the Obama familty doesn't stand behind the less fortunate in their family.
I wouldn't bet on that. Sorry... but in today's society... it doesn't always end up in marriage... I know, my second cousin is now on his second "marriage" engagement of the year (with two different young ladies)... Second baby due next week...
What an amoral sinner Jenny was.
The pious ones among us would demand that she wait until marriage before she got pregnant so another sperm would meet another egg and perhaps had an unremarkable offspring.
Neither do I. I simply refute their accusation or question them for their basis of complaint. The fact that they have offered no substantive response other than repeated attack phrases should give everyone reading this thread pause as to their real motivation.
The way the family, and by extension the campaign, deal with the issue will affect the future of America!
This is where you and I can respectfully disagree. The fact that Sarah Palin's teenage daughter sinned in a way the majority of her peers do is unfortunate but will not, in itself, affect the future of America. The fact that the Palin family chose to deal with this situation honorably sets a good example for the millions of families who are dealing or will deal with a situation like this.
It is silly to minimize that!
I am certainly not minimizing anything. I condemn the sin completely, but I appreciate the way they are dealing with the situation. I suspect that most democrats and most of the people condemning Bristol here would have quietly pushed for their own daughter to have a abortion.
As you may have read, MY first reaction was OH NO... and I really had to examine the situation, and Ive been high on Palin for at least six months!
Me too, but I am not going to condemn Gov. Palin or Sen. McCain for their judgment in this matter. Sarah Palin's mothering ability might possibly be a legitimate topic for discussion, but not her or Sen. McCain's judgment based on what we know about this situation.
I wonder if she’ll continue the family tradition of goofball baby names?
I suggest Talladega. Or
Some of these folks you recognize as "our own" are members of Democrat sleeper cells. I've been here for over ten years. They always behave like this. They never change.
Well Said!
.....I've been browsing through these post as fast as my simple old country boy education will allow.....
.....I'm sad to say I've read allot of discouraging post by folks around here that I've always had allot of respect for.....
.....hopefully this thread will not change that.....
.....McCain was not my first pick.....
.....(but as usual, nobody really cared about my opinion)lol.....
.....As with the good Doc D.....
.....I've been unbelievably blessed by the "bad" choices of others.....
.....being a parent as the McCain's and Palins are.....
.....I'm well aware of the ability of children to do just the opposite of what has been their parents sole focus in child rearing.....
.....I must admit that my good fortune in life has been mostly due to the labor of others, in more ways than i care to take time to describe here.....
.....I thank the good man above that there are people in this world who are willing.....
.....to do the things that are needed in this country.....
.....without regard to the personal scrutiny that will befall them.....
.....as best example of Christian man once advised me on whether or not I was suitable to hold an office in my Church.....
.....No one is suitable, except by the Grace of God.....
I like you!!! A lot!!
