Obama said he first would ask officials in the affected areas what is most needed, which may not be known for a few days."We don't want to solicit a bunch of canned goods that can't get there, or, you know, bottles of water where they already have water," he said.Obama said he might visit storm-damaged areas once "things have settled down."

The other night I saw him bragging how he could organize "a million volunteers" through his emailing lists to descend on Louisiana if necessary to help out.
As though New Orleans could even feed and house a horde of starry-eyed liberals pouring into the state.
Obummer and his acolytes are so full of BS there wouldn't even be enough bidets to accomodate them on the off-chance they would even make the trip.
The GOP has completely lost the mantle of being "The Stupid Party", believe me.

What?? You mean you would (gasp) wait to find out from the local government if (and what type of) aid is needed??
Isn't that exactly what the federal government was skewered for doing last time?

That's because he has no clue how to help out. McCain & Palin on the other hand have the experience to know EXACTLY what they can do to help out.
Obama didn't even know that the Red Cross wouldn't be able to provide water for his "fans" during his Biden Announcement Speech in Springfield, IL. They had to literally tell him they only provide water for emergencies and disasters -- not political rallies. As a result of his HORRIBLE planning more than 150 people had to be treated for heat stroke related problems. One man fainted and fell, and hit his head on the pavement. Some even had to be admitted to the hospital. [SOURCE: The Springfield, IL Journal-Sentinel - August 27, 2008]
So, maybe it's a good thing Obama is waiting - after all, he said it himself, he's afraid he would get in the way - and he would.

And meanwhile, has not the GOP canceled their convention except for necessary busines and already sent help?
