On Friday evening, President and Mrs. Bush attended Evening Parade at the Marine Barracks in Washington.
On Saturday, President Bush delivered his weekly radio address. The address once again focused on the economy and is reprinted in full further down. On Saturday, President Bush phoned the governors of TX, LA and MS to discuss the impending storms that are expected to strike their areas as a result of Hurricane Gustav.
Hi, thanks for the Dose. President Bush has handled this beautifully as has the RNC. Of course the President handled Katrina well also, but the MSM slammed him as they have done since the beginning of his Presidency.
Praying for our President, the people that are in harms way and just hope the Republican Convention can get into the swing of things soon.
All thanks go to daisyscarlett for her hard work and devotion ... ;)
Hi, thank you so much for the Dose. What wonderful pictures. I truly love the Sanity Island and look forward to read every time all the great people who work so hard gathering info.can post.
Love to you and all.
Report above about Laura Bush was not accurate ... she IS at the convention (surprise .. MSM stumble ;):

Laura Bush warns Dems away from anti-Palin sexism
First lady Laura Bush said today that sexism aimed at Sarah Palin was a very real prospect and suggested Democrats watch what they say about the Alaska governor and John McCain’s ticketmate.
The other side will have to be particularly careful,” Bush said in an interview on Fox News from St. Paul, “because thats something we all looked at.”
Questioned about whether Palin may face sexism from the media in the way Hillary Rodham Clinton supporters claim she did, Bush said: “I think that’s a possibility.”
The first lady, who had been planning to speak to the GOP convention tonight before Gustav scrambled the schedule, expressed pride in Palin.
“Im going to get what I wanted, which is to be able to vote for a Republican woman,” Bush said. “People, as they get to know her, are going to be so impressed with her grit and her sensible judgment.
“She has shown how terrific women can be, and how strong women can be, in office.
Bush and Cindy McCain were to visit a convention breakfast sponsored by the Louisiana delegation this morning.

YAY! I bet she’ll be getting more outspoken in the coming days, as their time in public office winds down.
According to one article, Palin’s approval as AK governor is 80%.
A while ago FOX News said she is the most popular governor in the Nation.
She’s going to kick ass.
Yes ma’am ...
Laura Bush is THE best first lady ever! If she ever ran for
president, I would vote for her in a heartbeat!
And she is right about the sexism thing...wasn’t that the
first thing that Obama’s nutty campaign said when they found
out it was her...”how is she going to raise 5 kids in the
White House” or something to that effect.
How inclusive they are! /sarc.
Didn’t you get the memo? They have been
granted a different set of rules ................. LOL.
Thanks for the ping to this!

I don’t want The Bush’s to go!
It saddens me a great deal.
I hope time goes by slowly, so we can extend the savor of these last few months.
Wonderful pictures of our dear president and his lady...
*grin*
We have good taste, huh!
‘..I dont want The Bushs to go!

Ditto. I hate to think about it....brings such a sense of pride to have him as the President of our great country ...and brings a sense of security to know he’s in charge. And, each time I see a picture of him and/or Laura posted on the Dose, it brings a smile.
: )
Absolutely as I was sorting out photos for tonight I was listening to her on Greta she was wonderful in fact both she and Cindy McCain were very gracious and I certainly felt that Cindy would be a good First Lady.
Apologie for the lateness of the dose tonight which is for several reasons, worked late, lot of photos etc etc. - will put up in a few minutes.
*Grin*
Same answer fits Your reply,lol!
Yes,indeed!
