Sarah who?
John McCain's decision to yank little-known Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin from the obscurity of the great northern tundra and dub her his running mate had Silicon Valley Democrats and even some Republicans scratching their heads Friday.
A brilliant end-run around opponent Barack Obama's mantra of change? A blatant attempt to throw a tantalizing bone to Hillary Clinton's more disgruntled female supporters?
"Who's she?" asked Democrat and former San Jose Mayor Susan Hammer. "I don't know what McCain's motives are, but I can't imagine any Hillary supporters supporting a conservative like Palin. She's pro-life and it seems she'd oppose virtually everything Hillary talked about during the campaign."

All those sour grapes make for a pretty good whine...
I saw that on a sprinkler-soaked paper in a driveway while walking the dogs this morning. That is what inspired me to post this. Though the online headline is different.
Hey Susie. She's everything you aren't and never will be.
The Rats are panicky as hell that the first woman VP is going to be a conservative Republican.
I guess I could fit that description, but I don't feel muzzled.
Relieved & hopeful, but not muzzled by any stretch.
Exactly.
That’s a pretty glib way to put it. McCain has given conservatives good reason to doubt him. Recently, such as at Saddleback and with his VP pick, he has shown that he is not irreconcilably antagonistic to the conservative base. This leads to a logical/rational decision that supporting him is justified. That is not being “muzzled.”
I think you’re exactly right on that. I was really surprised by the comments on Hillary’s site. Those women are in love with Palin. She has become the new Hillary to their way of thinking. Very little was said about her social positions. They were furious she was being attacked for her lack of experience. To them she has become the new crusader coming in and breaking up the good’ol boys network (which she did in Alaska). This is not the NAG crew they were pumped about McCAin/Palin.
She is going to prove a very difficult target to attack and I think she’s someone who will about able to circumvent the media and connect with the American people in the same way as Reagan. What she did in Alaska taking on vested interests and her approval ratings speak to her abilities.
ROFL!
This McCain basher, died in the wool conservative, and Alaskan recognizes that McCain has chosen a time bomb. This won’t be pretty Freepers. It looks like we will get our time in the wilderness. Let’s hope that when it’s time to emerge, we don’t still think the solution is nominating another liberal like McCain. This is a sad time for our country.
Thanks. You beat me to it.
Hammer, Obammy, rhyming coincidence?
I had just looked up the images of Susan Hammer (Who?) and I was going to say: Have you seen a picture of Susan Looks Like A Hammer and declare no contest.
Susan Hammer is as many Freepers would say: Guilty! Dumber than a box of hammers. If every problem looks like a nail to the dim Dhims, your every solution looks like a hammer.
Hammer vs Palin? LOL, no contest. Hammer would get hammered.
Apologizing in advance for all my bad puns and cornball comments.
I’ve felt happpier for the last 2 days than I have in a long time all because of McCain’s pick of Palin. Just fantastic.
She looks like she got hit with the ugly hammer. Many times.
abilities/I hope so because so far this election looks likea Chicage election.
By muzzled I mean I have not seen the sardonic invectives that were regularly hurled at McCain.
Clueless “Republicans.”
Who's she?
