6 things the Palin pick says about McCain (Kool Aid Time!)
Politico ^ | 8/30/08 | By JIM VANDEHEI & JOHN F. HARRIS

1. He’s desperate. Let’s stop pretending this race is as close as national polling suggests. The truth is McCain is essentially tied or trailing in every swing state that matters — and too close for comfort in several states like Indiana and Montana the GOP usually wins pretty easily in presidential races. On top of that, voters seem very inclined to elect Democrats in general this election — and very sick of the Bush years.

This reads like talking points pulled directly from their campaign “war room”.

Exactly. Thanks for the information. I never really paid much attention to who is behind the Politico. It figures.

Politico.com needs to be called “Politboro”, to flag all FR readers that it is just another radical, far leftist vipers den, and nothing they say should be given any credence.

WELL STATED! GRRRRREAT suggestion!

Yes, stop pretending. You know that obama should be leading by a wide margin. He's not and his actions- failing to immediately congratulate Governor Palin and instead citing her inexperience- show that he is desperate, inexperienced, and a snob.

Hmmmm ..?? I think we must always remember how the democrats operate - it’s called “projection”.

What these people just told us is:

1. Their camp is “desperate” and democrats are still “sick of the Bush years” [Bush still holds about a 78% approval rating with republicans];

2. The dems are “gambling” on an unknown black person [a black person they believed insulated them from any kind of attack whereby they can yell - racist! [I will not mention what I think of Obama’s ‘supposed’ intelligence;

3. Dems are worried about the youthful age of Obama - against a more mature person like McCain. And .. the youthfulness of his staff shows that maturity and experience is not their strong suit.

4. Dems are worried about Obama’s lack of experience in the world - and that’s why they sent him to Europe. [but .. the dems didn’t tell the world that the 70 or so thousand that gathered to hear Obama didn’t even know who he was - and the people were only there for the free concert (which preceded the speech) and free booze - so much for Obama’s charisma!]

5. Dems are terrified of their base. The white men are not onboard - and the Hillary women are unlikely to change their minds about voting for Obama; although most of the black women will probably swing over for Obama [while McCain may be solidifying his base with Palin - the dems are not doing that good with the Biden (white men) pick. A lot of white men have no respect for Biden or dislike Biden - it was a lousy pick].

6. Dems didn’t want to choose Hillary (primarily because Michelle had said NO!). The dems have taken the chance that getting the old white men will be easier to accomplish than dealing with the Hillary women [and these women already don’t like Michelle so she could not have brought in that group].

I don’t claim to have the last word .. but the dems are so predictible - this list of reasons against McCain is really a total list of why the dems are MORE DESPERATE.

Too bad these geniuses didn’t do an analysis of Obama’s veep pick. Let me suggest what they might have said:

1. Obama needs someone on the ticket with more experience than he has.

2. One “minority” on the ticket is enough. Pick an old white guy.

3. Pick the candidate of the Washington insiders. Obama is not “experienced” enough to pick his own candidate.

4. Obama doesn’t really care who his Vice Presidential choice is, so he’s willing to choose a noxious guy who doesn’t garner any votes.

5. Do not pick Hillary Clinton, because she will immediately overshadow you.

An article like this lets us know what we are up against.

The RATs are totally fired up for their candidate. He is ahead in the polls, and Republicans in general are finding the terrain is tough out there. Obama is the favorite.

If we want to win, we have to get organized and be aggressive. We have to register every potential GOP voter out there and have to make sure they get to the polls.

The great thing about Palin is adding her to the ticket has energized our base and has increased the likelihood that we will match the RATs in intensity. We've got a shot to pull this off, but don't fall into the trap of thinking it is going to be easy, or that we have it wrapped up. It is going to take total commitment on everybody's part if we want to prevail in November.

I think the media is really missing it on the experience issue. Whether by design or just a fortunate accident, picking Sarah Palin tilts the experience issue in McCain's favorite. Instead of taking the issue off the table, the Palin selection moves the experience issue front and center.

Without directly raising the issue, McCain's selection makes inexperience the topic again as Democrats attack Palin's inexperience. So what is everyone going to use as a measuring stick of Palin's experience? Barack Obama. First-term Senator versus first-term governor sounds no worse than a tie. (And no, Mort, running for President doesn't qualify as experience.)

However, and this is where the McCain advantage really lies, the experience in the McCain/Palin ticket is at the top, not the bottom like the Obama/Biden ticket. If people are troubled by a VP needing on-the-job training, how much more will they be bothered by a President needing on-the-job training?

When people begin to dig deeply to learn more about Obama's experience, what will they find? A community-organizer who had a mediocre state senate career (but with a couple of very revealing votes) and who has done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING as a U. S. Senator. Most people are really going to like Palin's challenging the Old Guard in the Alaska Republican Party. In other words, people will find Obama to be an empty suit while they will see Palin as a real up-and-comer.

That's pretty wide field to select from.

The fact that they are this concerned is very telling.

Liberals are running around in circles, tearing their hair out (Biden got a head-start) about Palin and, as always, liberals make the most noise when they're worried.

We need some kind of "noise scale" so we can plot their degree of worry on a graph....maybe do an Excel spread-sheet on it.

The ‘Rat’s first problem was when they decided about a year and a half ago that this election was in the bag for them. Dissatisfaction with Bush does not equate into running into the arms of the all-loving nanny state. Of course they still had a chance of winning, if they had tapped a moderate democrat with a little experience who could reach out to heartland voters, sure they could do it. Instead they go for a radical far-left neophyte who has nothing to offer other than a smooth voice and a past that we dare not ask to much about.
