My wife is overjoyed that she can vote for a qualified woman & I haven’t found a real Republican that is not fired up over Palin yet.

LOL! That made me laugh.
I love it when the libs come out of hiding and get nailed. They do it out of fear, and Palin is scaring them to death!

Did you forget your sarc tag, or do you truly not realize that McCain has had her thoroughly vetted? I'm not a big fan of the guy, but NO politician is that stupid.
Corruption and puppetmasters in Alaska...taking them on is what has earned Governor Palin her 80% approval rating from her constituents.

Sarah Palin has far greater experience as an elected offical, serving as mayor and as governor, than the magical one.Rush just read an AP headline that says much the same thing.

I realize for some people it’s always someone else’s fault.
I look at it differently.
It’s my vote and I’m responsible for using it in such a way as to do what’s best for my country, given the viable choices *presented to me on Election Day.*
Besides, it’s not the RNC who made McCain the nominee. It was primary voters, very few of whom voted for a candidate who was “more conservative.”

Last night Al Gore said one reason to vote for Obambi was that the next president could have up to three Supreme Court Justice nominations.
If I was sitting on a fence for McCain, that would be all I needed to be reminded of.
When a person sits out a presidential election, he accomplishes two things:
1. He helps whoever wins the election win.
2. He does nothing to help whoever lost the election lose.

Actually, it was Clinton pal Huckabee who was thrown in to split the evangelical vote and push McCain to the top of the ticket. One way for Clinton to win was to weaken the Republican ticket. Too bad she didn’t plan the correct strategy to win her own nomination, but she tried.

You must be kidding me. If half of what I hear out of the oil/gas industry is accurate, then this selection was a no-brainer . . . and was probably made by the GOP even before McCain was the nominee.

Ah yes, the nonRepublican primary voters.
Well, that is the party’s base then. The RNC will be able to count on them to bring their candidate to victory.

I followed your link, and from what you wrote, it seems like you wouldn’t like any woman for commander in chief, even a Maggie Thatcher type. I don’t have a problem with women in charge of the country, as long as they are able to make the decisions that have to be made. Apparently, you do. Sounds like the problem is not with Palin, it is with you.

“And people wonder why I don’t consider myself a Christian.”
I know you didn’t mean it they way I’m going to spin it, but what you said is a step in the right direction. There is more hope for you, who knows he/she is not a Christian, to eventually become one, than someone who wrongly believes they are “OK” in that department. Having bought into a false version of the real thing.
The very first step to becoming a true Christian is to realize you are indeed not one and helplessly lost in that state. By the Grace of God, I hope the day comes when you realize that for yourself, and then seek a cure at the hands of the real Jesus Christ of the Bible.
As the hymn writer wrote, “Nothing in my hands I bring, simply to thy cross I cling.”

1) first Republican woman selected to run as VP instantly makes this a historic ticket
2) secures and energizes the base
3) offers Hillary voters the opportunity to vote for a woman
4) executive experience (plus Governor of a Western state is a plus with many Western states in play this election)
5) great on oil/gas/energy
6) excellent speaking skills
7) conservatives can visualize her as future president
8) very family values
9) will attract some union voters who normally vote straight Dem ticket
10) stregthens McCains reform message Did I miss anything?
No you missed just about everything. Your points one by one.
1) BFD This is of little importance to true conservatives
2) I'm part of the so called "base" and I don't feel secure about this decision.
3) Hillary voters are left wing hacks who will hold there noses and vote for the Socialist Candidate.
4) The electoral votes are in the big states not the western states (excluding California which the Republicans will NEVER win again under any circumstances) (Texas also)
5)Ok you got me on that one.
6) Never heard her speak
7) Conservatives who are 15% of voting public, and will be less as time goes on.
8) Just what is a "family value". Will someone please define this? I hear this vague term all the time and I don't know what it means.
9) Not very many
10) Reform, what reform is McLame offering?
Yes you MISSED a great deal. What about the selection of a unknown woman who has very little experience with big time rough and tumble politics. She is from a small state(population) which is completely different from most if not all of the lower 48. It would be like taking a pitcher from the most minor of the minor leagues and put them in Game 7 of the World Series. The Democrats will pound on this theme don't you know. Califelephant, don't you know that the Republican party is as dead as a doornail in CA and can NEVER be revived. Do you want to kill the Republican Party Nationally? I repeat for all you knuckle draggers. You are 15% of the Voting Population. Most people don't think as you do. This is why you lose elections. The VP pick should overwhelmingly be picked for the person who could step in for the president if God forbid something should happen to the president.

But in her case, her relatively little experience is plenty enough to demonstrate character. Character without experience can be fixed
