Senator Fred Thompson Praises Senator McCain’s Vice Presidential Pick

(Nashville) – U.S. Senator Fred Thompson issued the following statement:

"I am absolutely delighted by this selection. Once again, John McCain has shown that he is an independent thinker who paints in bold strokes. Sarah Palin is a conservative reformer with executive experience who will bring a breath of fresh air to Washington. She will be an ideal running mate for John McCain, and will make a major contribution to our country's future."

liberal democrat : "yes we can"

conservative republican : "yes we WILL"

Conservative ideology: Nip it in the bud.
Liberal ideology: Nip it in the butt.

Other than the fact that Senator McCain should have been praising Fred Thompson’s pick for Veep, I’m happy. Thanks, Fred, for everything you’ve done for your country - and I hope that we haven’t seen the last of you. Maybe your friend John will make you Attorney General.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Other possible jobs for Fred: chief of staff, Supreme Court justice. I was a Fredhead and would love to seem him somehow involved in a McCain administration, but I suspect he would prefer to go back into show business.

WOW - do you know the reason they switched?

I’d have to guess that it’s because she’s the real deal, one of them, but would like to know what you think.

Thanks for the links to those threads.

Some of the other posters on those threads can’t read the tea leaves as well as you can.

I was very enthused this morning, hearing about Palin for VP. I might have to wake up and pay attention to this election. I’ve been ignoring everything since Fred dropped out.

Mr. Robinson, I think SEN. McCain just won.

After the temple to Obama speech last night, he should have been all over the news tonight. Instead, it was wall to wall coverage about Gov. Palin, the next Vice President of our Nation.

I turned on some talk radio and the leftists on the evening show were having fits that: (A) she was selected; (B) she is attractive; (C) she is a mother; (D) she is pro-life; and (E) she believes in the right to keep & bear arms.

The day after their guy made a historic speech, all they can do is hurl insults at this woman.

Negative doesn't win.

2 things I’ve noticed so far about Sarah Palin that are probably flying WAAAAY under the radar.

#1 - If you get a chance to watch her inaugaration video, the one where her husband is holding a bible, tak e a close look at the bible being used. It is WELL-worn, with corners up-turned. I like to see a well-used bible.

#2 - Look closely at her hands and lower forearms. At the risk of sounding like something out of Lonesome Dove, Sarah Palin has strong, working hands.

She at one time worked on a commercial fishing boat with her husband. Her hands were injured (fingers broken) in a collision with another boat. She also drove trucks (according to another news article).

Yes, that’s right, Barry.. REAL WORLD WORKING EXPERIENCE, NOT COMMUNITY ORGANIZING.

Her hubby is a united steel working guy. They LOVED that.

To be honest with you I dont care WHY they switch as long as they do. My brother who is a UAW guy in Detroit, works on robotics... switched. LOL

Nah, I want Fred to be appointed to the Supremes! Just watching the Confirmation Hearings will be a treat.

I went to the Spalding website, the folks that do the McCain campaign signs, etc. I wanted a yard sign, and a bumper sticker, but I also would like to have a McCain-Palin mug, and a t-shirt, and they only had the McCain 2008 type.

Downloadable flash video of her speech (if you don’t have it already). The music with her introduction is very appropriate, it does stir.
