Senator Fred Thompson Praises Senator McCains Vice Presidential Pick
(Nashville) U.S. Senator Fred Thompson issued the following statement:
"I am absolutely delighted by this selection. Once again, John McCain has shown that he is an independent thinker who paints in bold strokes. Sarah Palin is a conservative reformer with executive experience who will bring a breath of fresh air to Washington. She will be an ideal running mate for John McCain, and will make a major contribution to our country's future."

I haven't been this happy since Reagan!
And I know of at least 3 women life long Democrats in CA who might change votes to McCain/Palin

I agree with Fred.
Can we get Fred to go punch the Hippies at Verio and make some room in the pipe for us?
To: Jim Robinson
This is the most excited that I have been in a long time, conservatives are back in the game.

John McCain has shown that he is an independent thinker who paints in bold strokes.

That’s one polite way of putting it.

Now that we have a conservative on the ticket, when do we ditch McCain and add Fred?
Time for a Operation TippeCanoe 2 or sumthin.
Oddly enough or is it, Alaska is one state that is not a member of the Western Climate Initiative. Kudos to the
Alaskan Gub for keeping it that way and here’s hoping her successor does as well.

Fred nails it!
McCain made a solid conservative pick in Sarah Palin.
When we actually know how she stands on the subject of Illegal Immigration, THEN we will know if she is a solid conservative pick and not before.
I, for one, am unwilling to compromise on this issue and she has not said word one about it.

Add to that her husband’s native-american heritage, his school teacher / Mr Mom role, all with four wins in a famous snow mobile 200 mile race and we have a major story with fine details that will inspire interest.

Everytime I see Thompson, I get a twinge of “what could have been.”
Watching Law & Order re-run last night. There was Fred, scotch in hand, and suddenly I was lost in thought about a Thomspon/Cantor ticket.
Oh well.

Go Fred Go!
I am happy about Palin as veep too. However, I am very unhappy about the multiple reports of Freeper men crying in joy over this, and even more unhappy about the multiple use of the word “fabulous”......are we going gay or what?.........:)

First impression, I like Gov. Palin and what I've read of her bio. FDT giving the thumbs up seals the deal for me. I like the timing as well. Would have been rude to announce during the big O's speech..nice that McCain gave us this morsel to enjoy over the holiday weekend!
Even Gustav and his lil friend Hanna can't ruin my fun this weekend...got good news on the election front and COLLEGE FOOTBALL KICKING OFF! Roll TIDE ROLL!
