Palin Pick Causes 'Elation' among Evangelical Leaders
cbn ^

Posted on 08/29/2008 9:23:20 AM PDT by flyfree

Wow. Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is John McCain's pick for Vice-President. Folks, this is s close to a game changer as you can get.

Let me give you some instant reaction. I can tell you that The Brody File has been talking to multiple sources in the conservative Evangelical community and the reaction has been EXTREMELY POSITIVE. As a matter of fact, I am told that when conservative leaders heard the news this morning at a meeting at the Council for National Policy, one attendee told me that there is "nothing but elation. People are giddy. They are energized and they now believe that in fact this campaign has the ability to win this election."

“Any Momma who can raise a wonderful American son who enlisted as soon as he was old enough is woman enough to lead our country...”

Amen to that ma’am. I’m a veteran (in fact I’m still in the Army Reserve at 54). My younger brother has several sons of military age, and I have sought to “encourage” them to consider some military service. My Sister-In-Law (a lady I love just like a blood sister) has disappointed me deeply by saying things like, “I support the war in .....but not with my sons.” How can one support the president and war efforts, but not be willing to have her own flesh and blood put it on the line?

Like I said, I love my sister-in-law as much as my own brother, but that kills my respect for her. On the other hand, God Bless a woman like Governor Palin. She is one in a million. Plus, she refused to abort a baby that has down’s syndrome....that is as pro-life as one can possibly get.

McCain/Palin (That’s real change) Obama(bin)Biden (That is real stupidity)

Hillary’s head has got to be exploding now. She unwittingly set this up. McCain will be president and Palin will succeed him in 4 to 8 years.

It is time for McCain to really drive the stake through Obackula’s heart by announcing his picks for cabinet posts.

"She has more experience than Obamination has and more executive experience than Biden does. When it comes to actually "running things" she has more experience than both of them combined."

In fact, you could say that Barry & Biden Palin comparison.

At least, you could say that if you were as shameless as I am.

She seems almost too good to be true. Seems like a very smart pick by McCain. Well played, Senator.

Even better the MSM were looking at Lieberman and Kay Bay as his picks. Unlike Obama where the ultimate insider Biden had been found out as 'it' so early he himself denied it was him!

Why? This is win/win for the Beast. Obambi looses, and she flies in on her broom in 2012 for her last chance. I'd wager that if her 18 million flying monkey supporters are giving money to McCain now, she is too. Everybody's happy. McCain, the Old Gray Lady's pet socialist globalist maverick, will put conservatism back 50 years all by himself. Hillary is happy tonight.

I must now eat my well deserved crow.

I'm having to eat a small amount myself. But if this is what eating crow is like, I'll take some more any day.

I've never said I wouldn't vote for him, but I was planning on leaving the president vote empty, and I've criticized him mercilessly.

This shocked my political judgment to its core, and I've had to seriously reevaluate McCain.

This has me converted. I will actively support this ticket.

This pick tells me a few things. McCain knows the conservative base is his political life blood, and he can't be as liberal as I thought he was if he's willing to pick such a strong conservative. And also, maybe I can trust him when he says he'll appoint strict constructionist to the SCOTUS.

I went from a "No Way McCain", to an active supporter.

....”you don’t change what McClame is”...

I don’t get all the hoopla. McCain is still the same, no different today than yesterday. Paulin is just window dressing, to make conservatives feel comfortable voting for the liberal. It’s so obvious and yet so many were desperate for ANY reason to support the R candidate. Fools if you ask me, but I’ve only got one vote and rest assured it won’t be for McCain, no matter who his sidekick is. You can wrap garbage in pretty paper, it’s still garbage.

I hope that you get lucky and get set to one of “the good camps” where the weather is a little warmer. The ones that the Obama SS are planning to build in North Dakota will be quite uncomfortable in the winter.

As a nurse who has worked for years with disabled and challenged children... I can tell you that 99% of their Moms worked full-time and overtime to keep the family running. There are nurses (like myself) and nannies who are trained specifically to deal with this sort of situation. They travel, live-in or whatever the parents need....and that gives the parent(s) an opportunity to spend quality time with their special needs child.

Yep... I’m thinking maybe he should’ve ran for Mayor of D.C. and not President at this point... He might’ve been a little happier with the outcome.

You have to love the reaction on the liberal blogs, from Bill Burton of the Obama campaign and the MSM.

They can’t help themselves in attacking this beauty from experience to having her brother in law suspended 10 days over a divorce dispute with her sister.

I completely find the attacks hilarious and will hurt them and their candidate. It’s all they can do at this point and that includes the MSM anchors flailing about trying to find objections to the selection.

You can sense the fear and anger in their voices of protest and her femininity & story is the reason behind it because it could cost Obama the election.
