Palin Pick Causes 'Elation' among Evangelical Leaders
cbn ^

Wow. Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is John McCain's pick for Vice-President. Folks, this is s close to a game changer as you can get.

Let me give you some instant reaction. I can tell you that The Brody File has been talking to multiple sources in the conservative Evangelical community and the reaction has been EXTREMELY POSITIVE. As a matter of fact, I am told that when conservative leaders heard the news this morning at a meeting at the Council for National Policy, one attendee told me that there is "nothing but elation. People are giddy. They are energized and they now believe that in fact this campaign has the ability to win this election."

Cindy looks great - especially after seeing The Moose staring back at us all week long.

I guess you don't watch "The View", and therefore haven't been informed that Michelle Obama is "gorgeous" and the "second coming of Jackie O."

She took on the good ol boys - she wont fold like Obama would when going up against rogue nations.

America needs it's OWN Golda Meir or Margret Thatcher!

What an absolute crock of shit.

Her five children will have a full-time dad.

The time required to VP is probably less than a Governor.

Lieberman is a leftist loser who happens to support the war.

Romney is a libertarian/liberal who suddenly ran as a conservative when he tried to make the jump to national office.

For all his political career Romeny has been a baby killing, gun grabbing degenerate homophile.

Palin Rocks! She is more qualified to be president than Obama.

I STILL detest the worthless jerk ... you don't change what McClame is .... but before there was not a chance voting for him ..... I will still not vote for him, but will vote for his by far better half.

I see Governor Palin going a long way ... she taught Murkoski what she thought of him .. and That other RINO’s bridge to nowhere is on it in her view.

I will say one thing positive about McCain ... He was smart enough to give us a gift that shines. To that I say thank you Senator McCain.

First, P-M, you called this 2 days ago. Excellent job.

Second, I’m amazed at how much the media dislikes women. B. Hussein’s camp, the same that rejected a woman, Hillary, and a camp that believes women should be in burkhas, because that’s Obama’s islamic background coming out, has IMMEDIATELY attacked Palin, a clearly qualified woman.

The TRUTH is that Obama has zero executive experience and very little higher level experience at all. This woman has been a Governor and a mayor, all while being a mom, running a family, and being part of a family business.

The last I checked the 200 mile international sea treaty boundaries mean that Alaska, Russia, and Canada share issues involving international fishing. (Add Japan into that for good measure.)

Any governorship is significant. It is an executive position, and I’d be cautious attacking this woman if I were the dems.

By the way, I think she hit a home run with her acceptance speech. She’s a very, very good public speaker. I could feel the dems shaking in their boots.

Sarah Palin - pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-drilling, small government, strong defense, fiscal conservative, butt kicker. Hope some of it rubs off on McCain. And an Army Mom to boot! I may even be able to support this ticket.

Conservatives holding out support, waiting for McCain to pick a conservative VP, get what we want.

McCain finally used his “Maverick” reputation for the good. I’m surprised. Sarah is one of the few Republicans I still have respect for, and a main reason I still had some hope for the party down the road.

I’m conflicted. I still despise McCain. I still disagree his influence is good on the party. But Palin’s influence would be very good for this party, and arguably she is the more relevant figure between the two of its future given her age.

I was firmly sitting this one out. At the very least, Sarah demands a second appraisal so I’ll give this ticket some thought.

For McCain, best choice he could make. This will bring most conservatives to the campaign, not for him, but for her. She doesn’t hurt his “Maverick” image, she actually underlines it since she has the credentials of challenging and triumping over corrupt establishments without partisan regard. She probably won’t attract many liberal Hillary supporters unless their bitterness about Obama is that great because she’s pro-life, but those that liked Hillary because of gender she’ll be able to reach out towards. And she, her husband and children can connect with more youthful voters which Obama had the monopoly on.

Pawlenty would have been a safe pick. Palin’s edgier, contains some risk, but the upside is greater then the risks. The McCain campaign got this one right, whereas Obama blew it with their choice of Biden.

This is such a great day! She’s a typical “Alaska woman”. Living there for 20 years spoiled me for my current Lower 48 life. Women up there are generally outspoken, bold, and multi-faceted. Now, living in California and working for local government, it’s difficult to deal with mealy-mouthed, back-stabbing, politically correct, whiny co-workers.

I remember taking the ski train to the boondocks, finding a large bush or tree in the absence of “facilities”, and partying in the polka car on the way back. That was the morning. We’d get back home, shower, change in to our evening gowns and fur (yes: FUR!) coats, and mukluks. Then, with high heels in hand, we’d head off to the World Affairs Ball. Women in Alaska pretty much do it all. And I never once saw anyone exchange business cards of plastic surgeons or making appointments for bikini waxes — topics of daily discussion in California.
