Senator John McCain has decided on his running mate, two Republican strategists in contact with McCain's campaign said Wednesday. He is expected to reveal his choice at a rally at a basketball arena in Dayton, Ohio, at 11 a.m. Friday.
McCain's decision is known only to his small inner circle of advisers, no more than three or four people, who have refused all public discussion on the matter. Republicans close to the campaign said that the top contenders remained the same three men who have been the source of speculation for weeks: former Governor Mitt Romney of Massachusetts, Governor Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota and, possibly, Senator Joseph Lieberman, independent of Connecticut.

I hope I'm wrong, but it would fit McCain to a "T".
Rob Portman of Ohio.
I have an eerie suspicion its either Lieberman or Cantor. Everything I’ve read says announcement 11:00 AM Friday, campaign together in PA later in the day, then more campaign appearance on Sunday, but nothing is mentioned for Saturday.
Why skip Saturday?!?!? That would be a prime weekend campaign day. Unless.....
the pick were Lieberman or Cantor who would not campaign on the Sabbath being Jews. Sabbath begins Friday evening and runs through Saturday.
So I am now leaning towards it has to be Lieberman or Cantor and I’m saying please God, Cantor..........
Romney
“In any case I support John McCain and whoever VP he chooses. Our goal is to defeat Obama the defeatist, Obama the socialist, Obama the abortionist, and Obama the left wing liberal.”
My sentiments exactly.
I don’t care who he picks, I’m not voting for him.
It’s gotta be someone outside the envelope (a pilot, he’ll understand), or we’re doomed, I tell ya, we’re doomed!
I believe this is the true short list: Sarah Palin, Meg Whitman, Carly Fiorina, Eric Cantor, Kay Bailey Hutchison, and Rob Portman.
Schmuckabee??? Haillll no!

I live in Phoenix and JD Hayworth has a talk radio show here, he was voted out of Congress last election.
On this show today he stated that he has indications that this is the choice, Kay Bailey Hutchison.
I certainly hope not, I think he might be of the mind to believe that a female is going to pick up the women who wanted Hillary.
Not.
This woman if chosen, because she is from Texas will be connected to Bush and then the whole thing will fall from there. Besides the fact she hasn’t done anything and a lot of people have never heard of her. Poor choice. I certainly hope it’s not her.
William McKinley.
Locks up the mortician bloc, and the senior vote, makes McCain look like a young guy.
Wait and see.
I like Palin, but if McCain picked her and he kicks the bucket, can we really see her running the country?
that’s pretty astute, gramma. And, I sure hope it isn’t Lieberman.
Whomever it takes to ensure the most votes for the Republican party to soundly defeat the anti-American, socialist, Marxist, communist, traitor Muslim, liar, fraud, phony, emtpy suit, Stepford candidate, Manchurian candidate, jug eared black racist Obama and his witch of a snotty, scary, hateful ingrate of a wife, etc.
All that matters is that Obama lose. He’s the end of America, Western civilization and the world.
Pennsylvania is on the 30th.
Cool... I will take a day off on Friday and wait by my cell phone for the text message from his campaign...
I agree with your rankings... I’m guessing Palin or Cantor.
Someone you’ve missed who has been talked about: Kay Bailey Hutchison. Not my top choice.
Never mind the toll it takes on the country ... you can hold your head up and say, "I was one of the self-righteous nincompoops that helped to elect Obama".
It will be a proud day in the life of anchorclankor, I'm sure.
