Senator John McCain has decided on his running mate, two Republican strategists in contact with McCain's campaign said Wednesday. He is expected to reveal his choice at a rally at a basketball arena in Dayton, Ohio, at 11 a.m. Friday.
McCain's decision is known only to his small inner circle of advisers, no more than three or four people, who have refused all public discussion on the matter. Republicans close to the campaign said that the top contenders remained the same three men who have been the source of speculation for weeks: former Governor Mitt Romney of Massachusetts, Governor Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota and, possibly, Senator Joseph Lieberman, independent of Connecticut.

Make your predictions now -- then on Friday we'll see who and how many people were correct. Please PREDICT, don't recommend, or wish, the time for that is over.
I am sticking my neck out and predicting Meg Whitman, CEO of E-bay.
Reason: McCain mentioned her as one of the three wise people he would listen to, when asked at the Saddleback forum. I was surprised, but then I gave it some more thought. She is a strong business woman, invented and built E-Bay from scratch and read somewhere she was interested in entering polics. McCain's foreign policy experience and her domestic business experience complement each other.

I think it will be Romney, but I would prefer Pawlenty. MN may, however, go Democrat any way, and Pawlenty may not be able to help, like Agnew could not carry MD for Nixon in 1968.

As long as his running mate is a confirmed Conservative, I don't care.

Eric Cantor looks good to me. I’m not in favor of a “gimmick” candidate, like a black or a woman just for the sake of running a black or a woman.

Pawlenty, as it turns out.
And I’m OK with that, I think...

I fear that it will be Pawlenty, however, I hope for Palin, Cantor or Mitt, not necessarily in that order.

I want Romney but I do not think it will be him. I think that it either Tim Plawenty or Sarah Palin. In any case I support John McCain and whoever VP he chooses. Our goal is to defeat Obama the defeatist, Obama the socialist, Obama the abortionist, and Obama the left wing liberal.
McCain will be our next President.
