Senator John McCain has decided on his running mate, two Republican strategists in contact with McCain's campaign said Wednesday. He is expected to reveal his choice at a rally at a basketball arena in Dayton, Ohio, at 11 a.m. Friday.
McCain's decision is known only to his small inner circle of advisers, no more than three or four people, who have refused all public discussion on the matter. Republicans close to the campaign said that the top contenders remained the same three men who have been the source of speculation for weeks: former Governor Mitt Romney of Massachusetts, Governor Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota and, possibly, Senator Joseph Lieberman, independent of Connecticut.

Whitman OUT.
After seeing Obama speak tonight at the DNC I see why he chose mile high: It was the only venue big enough to hold Obama’s ears...
Uh oh, didn’t Dowd get in trouble for that?
“Im hoping for Kasich....”
If Kasich can deliver Ohio, then let it be Kasich.
Gotta love a guy who was once arrested for jumping on the stage at a Dead concert.
“I’d really be shocked if McCain picked her. It would be an “out of the box” choice, though.”
I would never have thought of Meg Whitman as a possibility — but of all the people, why did McCain pick her as one of the three people he would listen to, right up there with Gen. Petreus? That’s what got me thinking — McCain could have picked a lot of other people as the answer.
I’m talking about running mate. McCain is partially pro-life. He is for abortion in the case of the big 3 (rape, incest, and life of the mother) and pro-embryonic stem cell research. Life begins at conception so both candidates will be using votes to abort babies. It is a matter of scale.
Here’s the bottom line:
Sarah Palin is a fine person, I’m sure.
But ZERO national security experience or expertise, and in a time of war America needs a Vice President that is capable of stepping up to Commander-in-Chief without the need for training wheels.
Palin doesn’t rise to that level.
Just an aquaintance, not a friend, so no address. Do you concur with him?
It matters if you are going to run on the premise your opponent lacks political experience.
"Well, she could always leave like, you know, the night before or something. : )"
"Sen. McCain has chosen his running mate and the person will be notified on Thursday, a senior campaign official said."
I'm married and have a daughter. This is an unlikely scenario given the time/distance constraint. :D
(It's also possible that they're fibbing, that McCain made his choice weeks ago and that they're just playing with the rats and the media. Considering how good Steve Schmidt is at this game, I wouldn't bet against it.)
It’ll be Romney.
Was he really? LOL! I love Kasich.
My money is on Mitt.
well,it’s obvious ,,its fred thompson
Vee need to take down all addresses of our critics, ja? ;-)
Or maybe Jimmy Hoffa.
Kay is pro choice. The media would talk about that every day till election day. And play that clip from Saddle where John says life begins at conception.
At this point, I expect the worst from McCain. I think Romney best but they say he is out.
I agree, Kasich would be an excellent choice
Mitt Romney brings the most states to the GOP. McCain needs all the help he can get. I vote Mitt.
McCain, Obama or total irrelevance.
One no-name reporter’s “sources” say he’s out. Doubt that.
