Denver -- It was powerful, it was passionate -- and from inside the hall here, it was one killer speech.
Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton brought the house down with her address tonight at the Democratic National Convention, where it looked to be about a 9-plus on the Richter scale.
The insiders had warned that Clinton had to deliver bigtime tonight -- for her legacy, and for her future, as well as for Obama.
Deliver she did. Republicans, of course, had their views -- that she delivered evidence that their guy, John McCain, is the only one ready to hit ground running at the White House. Here's some thoughts from critics and insiders:
*Phil Trounstine, Democratic strategist and Obama supporter: ''Sen. Clinton did everything she needed to do. She made it crystal clear to all of her supporters that it is their duty to fight on for her by supporting Barack Obama. If he becomes president, it will be in part because Hillary Clinton had the grace and strength to re-unite her party.''
*Ruth Sherman, author and communications consultant: ''I've never seen her this good, not even close. . . .

Then you have not been paying attention. They plan on raiding your wallet even worse than they do now. Please pay attention.
PS: I bet this review was written two weeks ago.
Yes.Nancy Pelosi was right whaen she said that God has sent us Barack Obama.
I admit I don’t like Hillary but I can recognize a good political speech when I hear one, even from her. Hers was pure schlock and even embarrassing in its “we can cure every wrong and evil in the world” theme, its banalities, and platitudes. To use an old Florida expression, if she were a man we’d say he had “balls bigger than cocoanuts.”
She delivered the message that Barack Obama is an obvious third place candidate to McCain and Hillary
Written prior to Hillary's appearance and placed in DNC fax machines by Obama campaign managers.....
...send button pushed during Hillary's last sentence.
I am no fan of HRC - but it was easily the best speech that she has ever given.
She urged her peeps to support Obama - but really gave him no props.
Her main point was - vote for Obama because he’s better than Mccain.
“I’ve seen two nights now and no one has said anything about what they plan to do for our country.”
Bingo! And when this stupidity is over, you still will have not heard anything. Obama is toast.
Exactly, the same speech we’ve heard for 30 years. Higher taxes, no energy plan and universal healthcare. The only question is whether the Establishment press wrote their reviews before or after?
Pray for W and Our Troops
OK Hillary showed that she was a party faithful. Now the Obama ship hits the span—it is out in the open that the Ayers-Obama-Bernadine-Michelle linkage is much more than Obama said. He is caught in a big lie.
Now Hillary can make her move, with super-delegate help, to “save” the party.
I think it is no longer possible to have civil discourse in this country.
An epiphany of hatred.
They wrote their reviews before her speech. They could always edit them before hitting the send button if she choked on her words or bile poured out of her ears.
“I wonder whom God will send next?”
One hundred thousand contractors building a big wall on our Southern border?
I don’t hate all the Democrats. Harry Truman seems to be a good guy. :)
Let's hope so.
Why Nathan Bedford Forrest?
Susan Ostretch was on Fox tonite with a different view.
Now THAT, was a bridge too far....
I'll have to vote for McCain -- but I'll wear a Hazmat suit and shower vigorously on my return home...
The answer to that question is both. No reason they should hedge thier bets.
