Anyone else notice that Michelle didn't Thank her Mom in her speech?
Didn't hear any of the pundits comment on this last night.
All it would have taken was six words, Thank You Mom, I Love You.
Opportunity of a lifetime to honor the person who raised and cared for you, gave you a great video intro, and you missed it.
Shame on you Michelle.

How about “I am racist, communist America hater?”
Only one thing matter:
POWER.
Sad, but true.
For all of the attempt at humanizing I felt this speech was more about what’s in it for me........

Because it is all about Michelle. . . .
If you get a chance watch it again.
I sat there with my wife watching for it, as I found it odd that she spent more time on her brother, and father, and left out her Mom who was in the audience.
Only oblique reference was I stand here as a daughter.....
This slight, tells me a lot about what she is all about.
More importantly, she described how Barack drove her and the new baby home ever so carefully from the hospital. Was this to cloud the FACT that Barack worked to make sure that other newborn babies would be thrown away to die in an ignominious manner?
“I am voting for John McCain.”
“Stop me before I spout again.”
“I’m sorry I’ve been so ungrateful.”
“Haven’t cracked a Bible in years.”
"So, we'll just keep it for a few days and see if it's a blessing or a punishment."
Didn’t think of that, good observation.
This was Political Posturing , not humanizing.
Don’t know if you saw McCain on Leno.
Very natural, quick to make a joke about himself, and right to the point when he had the opportunity to do a little politicking.
Great move on his part to get more face time with Leno, as compared to viewers who would really watch the DNC convention.
You are admirable for listening to this tripe. I turn the tv off when her or his mugs appear. I have had enough already.

The Obamas and the DNC are wrong about the American Dream.
The American Dream is that if you work hard, and persist, you can achieve great things.
Their American Dream seems to be centered on what you can get for free in America. Look at all that’s been given to the Obamas out of all proportion to their efforts and accomplishments.
And I come here as a daughter -- raised on the South Side of Chicago by a father who was a blue collar city worker, and a mother who stayed at home with my brother and me. My mother's love has always been a sustaining force for our family, and one of my greatest joys is seeing her integrity, her compassion, and her intelligence reflected in my own daughters. My Dad was our rock. Although he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in his early thirties, he was our provider, our champion, our hero. But as he got sicker, it got harder for him to walk, it took him longer to get dressed in the morning. But if he was in pain, he never let on. He never stopped smiling and laughing -- even while struggling to button his shirt, even while using two canes to get himself across the room to give my Mom a kiss. He just woke up a little earlier, and worked a little harder.
He and my mom poured everything they had into me and Craig. It was the greatest gift a child could receive: never doubting for a single minute that you're loved, and cherished, and have a place in this world. And thanks to their faith and their hard work, we both were able to go on to college. So I know firsthand from their lives -- and mine -- that the American Dream endures.
She spent an extra paragraph on her dad, presumably because his was a tail of overcoming hardship. I would also venture a guess that given the state of black families in America, particularly absent fathers, they wanted to draw extra emphasis on her dad being there as the breadwinner.
But she did honor her mom as well.
My wife and I wanted to see how much of a politician she is.
Proved it to me when when I saw her slight her Mom..
Also, I believe in know what the other side is really saying, so I can point out to the undecided voters what to watch for.
Surprising how a few little natural things can swing their opinions.
They don’t have to be economists, military strategists, or lawyers to get the simpler stuff , like honor your MOM......
The America dream also has to do with upward mobility. If you work hard, your kids can have a better life/standard of living than you had. It’s been a hallmark of American life that each generation has a better standard of living than the last. I think that’s what Michelle’s story was supposed to convey. Of course, their policies are all about giveaways and class envy, but the story she told was about grit and work and faith.
Actually, I don’t fault Michelle for not telling the world she loves her mother. I think there’s far too much of such obligatory, but essentially meaningless, “I love [fill in the blank with family member’s name]” declarations. You don’t see such declarations in politicians’ speeches in any other country, to my knowledge.
I’d much rather see detailed policy prescriptions from candidates than meaningless pap like “I love Mom.”
Of course, Michelle Obama isn’t a candidate, which makes her presence last night as the main speech-giver quite curious.
