That must be why Joe Biden yelled at some guy to get off his lawn, pal. He must be fuming.

This guy is my age. The draft ended in the early 70s when this guy wasnt a teenager...In fact, depending on what year he was born, he might not have had to register at all. (THAT started back up again when I was in college.)
Chet was born 24 November 1951. He became eligible for the draft in late 1969. When did Nixon effectively end it, i.e., stop calling anyone from the lowest lottery numbers, as opposed to formally scrapping the Selective Service Act in 1973?

No, I live north of his district. He was almost taken out a couple of elections back, but he survived. His district is mostly rural and he gets himself known to a lot of people personally. Typical Texas yellow-dog Democrat “good old boy”, coming across as a common sense type of guy to his constituents, but who fits in nicely with his DC lib buddies when the folks back home ain’t lookin’.

Lets hope McCain doesnt try to follow suit by picking Lieberman

D’OH, my bad ... don’t know why my mind keeps putting the housing part of Hood in southern McLennan rather than northwestern Bell County. Hood is now in CD 31 ... Rep John Carter’s District.

In 2002 and 2003, the head of our local peace group referred to liberating Iraq as terrorism on numerous occasions. Then, when John Edwards was chosen to be Kerry’s veep, she wrote into the local paper to describe the Dem ticket as having their hears in the right place.
The Dems will get to do that sort of thing again, and they’ll also get to explain why Barry has chosen a bitter clinger—Edwards has a 100% NRA rating.

So, a virtual unknown presidential candidate picks an unknown congressman from a conservative state he has no chance of winning? Sounds like he’s just trying to make mommy Nancy happy with this.

I’m sure this Chet person detests America just like the Obamunist.
He’s a great pretender. Obambi thinks he is going to take TX.

Chet is probably wishing he paid the extra 5 bucks and got Caller ID so he wouldn’t have answered the phone.

Maybe Obama’s vetting Chet to humor Nancy P. since that’s who she wanted him to pick. I still think it’s going to be Biden. Obama needs an attack dog and Biden fits the bill.

I’m seeing a campaign poster that resembles the one for Brokeback Mountain...

Despite John Kerry’s assessment, the military is not full of chumps. This will have no significant effect.
