My problem is that I wouldn't get my kosher meat prepared from Somali Muslims. Many of them may be the nicest folks, but who can rule out the extremist Muslims among them using the chance to contaminate the "evil Jooos" food. It's bad enough that so much of our food is from places like China.
Like the financial analysts on FOX this weekend when they talked about Russia and the Georgia conflict. Somebody mentioned boycotts and they went ballistic at the thought of harming “free enterprise”.
The lying sacks of crap couldn’t care less about right and wrong. They’re happy to throw the Georgians to the dogs and deal with the Russians and their version of government owned and operated “free enterprise”.

Illegal immigration is not a social conservative issue. Quit bitching.
There were a number of articles, none posted here, addressing the Koser status of the plant (that involves a lot more than a 2 cent certificate) and there were no problems with the status of their observance. Christian or Muslim butchers or employees isn't a factor, nor would be illegals in that sense.
A number of people have advocated not buying their product because of the violations of employment laws, but that's a secular issue. And a good idea, imo. I'm sure there are some, but I doubt there are many observant Jews doing their own slaughter.

The only reason there is a so-called anti-Hispanic undercurrent is that the majority of illegals are from Mexico (60% I recall is the statistic). People dont want illegal immigration no matter where it comes from. If anything, the comments on this thread show that African muslim Somalis in Burquas would be less desirable neighbors than hispanics playing Tejano music in pickups. We’ve had some hard-working Mexican immigrants do landscaping work for us; here in Texas, a lot of construction crews, masonry and other laborers are Mexican. They work hard.
If these people are supporting themselves, yeah, they probably should be let to stay. But they have to obey the law, and a lot of the ones who break this law will break other laws. So we have to have a system of legal immigration and we have to have a system that keeps out those who would evade the law to get here. The fact that clamping down on illegal immigration would clamp down on Mexican illegal aliens is nothing against that group, but is about fixing a broken system and stopping our illegal immigration from getting worse and worse.

- Actually, that doesnt make sense. Clamping down on illegal immigration causes more refugees coming here? Hardly. This is more about a particular company tapping into a pool of people who are already here.
The Somalis would still be living *somewhere* in America whether or not ICE raided this plant.

Ouch. That kinds of nails it. These jobs needed to be filled and it's tough to find American citizens who are willing to do this crappy job for the same money they can make working in an air-conditioned Wal-Mart or GAP.
For the life of me, I can't figure out why we don't have a guest-worker program for this type of job.
