...Richard Land, the president of the Southern Baptist Convention. In talking about VP choices with CBS News, Land said that Gov. Palin would be the most exciting VP choice for the Evangelical community....

O... I thought the 'affirmative action' remark was a knee-jerk gender thing.
Not workable. Not at all.
The Vice-Presidency is not the Mommy Track.
We need a serious second-in- command.
I treat all 1/2 term governors the same. Male, female, or other. Not qualified to be CIC.
Hopefully Obambi will announce his VP first, and it will be a male. If McCain comes out first with a female VP, Obambi will have to have one also to neutralize the loss of the female Clinton supporters.
“Worn the uniform but never military”? What are you smokin?
I assume you mean he did not see combat.
I agree.
Obama has to announce first because the democrat convention comes before the republican convention.
Governor Palin would be a bold choice in many ways — which is precisely why an Establishment guy like McCain will never pick her. She’s too “outside the box” for Establishment Johnny.
Ah ... yup.
Works for me!
“Governor Palin would be a bold choice in many ways which is precisely why an Establishment guy like McCain will never pick her. Shes too outside the box for Establishment Johnny.”
That’s why it would be a great mold-breaking choice.
It would tell people McCain is willing to be a bit outside the box.
Raising a child is not an all or nothing proposition and it's hardly abandonment to give a chlid to other people to take care of, especially when they are family. My mother died when I was six and because my father had to work, I was raised by a combination of grandparents, aunts, and uncles and never felt unloved or abandoned. Given the age range of Palin's children, their grandparents, and her husband, I think you are making assumptions that may not be warranted. As I mentioned, she has four other children who seem to have turned out just fine, including a son who recently joined the military. That's a better track record that quite a few stay-at-home moms.
If she can do that to her babies, imagine what she will be willing to do to us.
I want her to be my Vice President or even President, not my overprotective mother.
McCain already has military experience. Palin provides the fiscal and social conservatism.
Plus she has sons serving in Iraq as well. She would really balance the ticket out and help McCain bring in conservatives.
Picking Palin is a no-brainer. She has held elective office since 1992 - 16 years of experience. Maybe it's just a hodge-podge of local offices and such, but it's far more experience than either Hillary or Obama ever had.
This woman is more than ready. All McCain has to do is ask. If McCain chooses her, I'd walk over broken glass to vote for him.
She's Governor of Alaska now. Who is watching her kids during the day?
The thing is, she has ethics and good sense. That more than makes up for any lack of experience in high elective office.
A sucker for nice legs, apparently. I’d take Jindal over Palin if you want a ‘bold move’. Much better resume. However, McCain should choose Fred, or Hunter, or Santorum, or Sanford, or Sessions or Ollie or or or, but he won’t. In other words, he needs a man who can take over and be an improvement if Mccain keels over.
With Russia and China and Iran and venezuela to deal with, it is no time for a neophyte female governor.
Palin and Jindal need to prove themselves over a period of time.
Not her! She just had a baby, too.
She should get a puppy - except she would ignore it, too.
I don’t want her to be my mother or my cold-hearted elected representative.
AGREED!
NOT THEIR MOTHER!
..easy cowboy--put away that big paintbrush--not everybody is insane out here...
