WHY ISN'T OBAMA WINNING?
boblonsberry.com ^ | 08/11/08 | Bob Lonsberry

Hillary Clinton would have won this election.

Joe Biden would have won this election.

Bill Richardson would have won this election. Barack Obama just might lose this election.

Has anybody noticed that, in this Year of the Democrat, Barack Obama is starting to choke? In a year when voters seem fed up with all things Republican, and poll after poll pitting a hypothetical Democrat against a hypothetical Republican shows the GOP candidate getting slaughtered, Barack Obama is in a dead heat with the oldest and least-inspiring man ever to run for the presidency.

Is it time to start recognizing that the emperor has no clothes?

For all the hype, as a candidate and potential president, this guy sucks.

Think about the propaganda. Ridiculous comparisons to John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr., a 50-percent advantage in favorable media coverage, an across-the-board perception that he is the candidate of the evening news, the largest campaign staff in history, a stunning financial advantage, a sphere of political correctness that puts him above criticism.

All that, and he’s not winning.

He’s essentially tied with John McCain. And John McCain is the candidate who is making progress. Especially in battleground states, the candidate who’s gaining ground is not Barack Obama.

Astoundingly, he’s blowing it.

He’s built himself an Air Force One. He took the world tour. He had a presidential seal made for himself. He had cheering Germans. He has Hollywood in his pocket. His apologists are paid “analysists” on the network news.

He even played the race card.

He had the election handed to him on a silver platter, and the anticipated blowout is shaping up to be anything but.

How could any candidate in any party turn this much advantage into a tie?

That’s the question Democrats have to ask themselves. As Barack Obama repeatedly takes positions he blasted Hillary Clinton for taking, as he shows himself to be one more political shape shifter, as his presumed eloquence stammers into off-prompter oafishness, Democrats have to ask themselves if they were conned.

Have they really given their nomination – in this “can’t lose” year – to a guy whose resume fits on a 3-by-5 card? Have they really enthroned self-esteem over accomplishment?

Barack Obama has all the arrogance in the world, he’s got entitlement down pat, and with three months to go til Election Day, he’s started to crap the bed.

John McCain wanted 10 town hall meetings, with real people asking real questions and the candidates grilling one another. Barack Obama would only agree to three meetings, and then only with his stooge media “moderators” and no direct questioning from John McCain. Those are the actions of a frightened man playing defense. How possibly can the Democratic candidate in 2008 be a frightened man playing defense?

It’s almost as if the Democratic Party, enthralled with the historic aspect of Barack Obama’s candidacy, decided to ignore the substantive aspect of Barack Obama’s candidacy – or the lack thereof. Somehow, one kind of history – black candidate – trumped another kind of history – woman candidate – and the Democrats’ sure-thing win has been put in jeopardy.

And the best defense the Barack Obama campaign has is to characterize its opponents as “haters,” as if any opposition to Barack Obama is unquestioned proof of racism. And other Democrats, those who supported other presidential candidates, are obligated to be defenders of a candidate who they know isn’t the best their party had to offer.

Incredibly, the Democratic Party may, come the middle of November, have to explain how it let this one get away. In what should be the year of across-the-board Democrat landslides, it’s even money that the Republicans will win the presidency.

And Barack Obama is the reason.

He’s not the leader of the Democratic Party, he’s the beneficiary of the Democratic Party. And he’s got to hope that he can ride on its coattails.

Because America is starting to realize that the emperor has no clothes.

Can we please stop obsessing over Obama and why he isn’t leading and why republicans are unpopular, blah blah blah. It’s all propoganda to influence the sheeple to vote democrat. No one should let a leftist democrat within a mile of the White House.

Great posting I especially like the “ beneficiary “ Yes Barack is the beneficiary of the party. It’s his entittlement for being a one term Senatore with no history or background. The Rat’s are so desperate to win they play the game at any cost to America.

We need to fight to defeat this cancer!

This is being kind — it was time before he was even selected to run for the nomination. The radical libs have clearly outdone themselves with the selection of this total carpetbagging loser.

WHY ISN'T OBAMA WINNING?

Because Barack Obama's positions are opposed by the vast majority of Americans. Obama is a hard left idealogue, and most Americans, for good or ill, are centrists.

Obama is in an impossible position. As he tailors his message to appeal to the centrists he must have, he alienates his base and reveals himself to be without principles. McCain has been courting the center for years, and does nto suffer in the same way.

Yeah. Aside from the Braindead Leftists who're enthusiastic about Obama but who are a small percentage of the population, there's surprisingly little pro-Obama sentiment out there.

Even Yellowdog Democrats are saying things like "This guy scares the &*@#%!& outta me!" and "I keep tellin' my wife she's gonna be wearin' a burqa".

As I cruise through Nutcase Leftist Strongholds, I see surprisingly few "Vote Obama" bumper stickers.

One Leftist said to me:

"If the election were held today, I'd probably vote for Obama, but I don't know what I'm going to do in November.

"My father will probably not vote. He won't vote Republican. He's a Democrat. But he's a racist; so he won't vote for Obama. He probably won't vote."

Frankly, I haven't heard ANY Republican or Libertarian give race as a reason for not voting for Obama. Only Democrats--hardly a surprise.

I think the American people have listened politely but come November will defeat Obama by a landslide.

McCain should do a campaign ad doing showing a debate with an empty lectern with B.O.'s presidential seal on it.

McCain answers with a short to the point statement. Moderator puts the question to B.O. and camera cuts to empty lectern with on screen caption
"If Barak Obama won't show up to debate the issues, why would you vote for him?"

Give it any “syndrome” name you like, but when it comes right down to it, white voters will NOT pull the lever for an unqualified black whose only claim to fame is the adulation created by a fawning media! If the Obamessiah is not up by a substantial margin going into election day, the final tally will be for McCain, possibly by big numbers. Even the massive voter fraud dems will bring to bear will not do the trick.
