These a$$-clowns are being bribed and/or blackmailed. Nobody is that stupid. Prince George running off to China and not standing and fighting with the house Republicans by calling congress back into session and the efforts of the "Gang of Blackmailed and Bribed" have severely hurt the Drill Here Drill Now movement.
The few house Republicans standing and fighting are the only reason I have not switched to independent.....yet.
Contact your Congress critters to let them know that you are tired of high gas prices.
I have already contacted Saxby and Johnny—
I live in GA— both are my Senators....
I am awaiting statements from them...
just FYI— folks- they are already in meetings all morning over this issue— they are getting bombarded with calls— know more are coming...
they are trying to gather the wagons on “language” to use on this issue...
We must be united in our language!
We want the House Bill!
We want the Boehner bill in the House- we feel there is no need for a gang
even the drilling areas the gang proposal has- will be no help— these areas are not where the oil is.
The Senate serves the same people that House serves
The House hears the American people-— Repub and Dem alike— we want Boehner’s bill
We do not want “something” done for the sake of “something being done”
we want a SOLUTION.... the gang proposal is NOT a SOLUTION to the crisis and will not lead us to Energy Independence....
Please keep up the heat— do NOT accept excuses and rhetoric...STAND FIRM!
I MUSt go to a luncheon...
plus stay tuned— there is much much more to do folks— and it will take all of us....
Ready to go, let’s hit the phones and write those emails!
Name your Congressman and include the quote!
“they” just don’t get it when a FL Dem said they don’t want all that NATURAL GAS WASHING UP ON THEIR BEACHES!
God Bless You EC!!
Checking in, reporting for duty.
What is it with this Gang of 10. I’m tired of throwing the democrats a life preserver.
BTTT
Hey btn... check this out!!!
The President has no business doing the House Republicans’ work for them.
Sent them all another email this morning and encourage all Freepers to do the same!
Sent them all another email this morning and encourage all Freepers to do the same!
I agree. Plus it allows the House Republicans to take ownership and win with this issue.
Assuming that the Gang of 10 agreement will unravel.
I’ll be calling and emailing today.........thanks.
I especially targeted the plan to “Converting Cars and Trucks to Non-Oil Fuel Sources to Regain Energy Independence
“
That is little more than the Marxists dream of rendering the ‘little people’ immobile or, at the least, dependent on public transportation - and to he*l with the tens of thousands of red-staters who have no access to public trans.
and ‘tax credits’ to convert are worthless to low income people.
I, for example, am a ‘really’ senior cit. on a ‘very’ limited income. I drive an 11 year old car, borrowed from a son as my own 17 year old Buick needs more repair than I can afford to pass inspection (like rust on the rocker panels...which our state will not allow. Otherwise, the motor is fine, the rest of the body fine, brakes=new lines, ditto gas lines, etc.)...
I would never be able to afford a ‘conversion; nor a new hybrid.
But the Marxists have long held the view that the little people don't need to be out on the road in the first place.
I cannot believe ANY republican would touch this Marxist bill.
Thank you for these links. I just contacted both my senators....Hutchison and Cornyn....to ask them to support—vocally—what the Republican representatives are doing!
I hope they listen. I know that they agree with what is going on in the House!
CNN Money is reporting that gas prices peaked on July 16th and have been on a downward slide nationally.
On July 14th President Bush lifted the Executive ban on offshore drilling.
Wonder what gas prices might be doing if Nancy Pelosie and the other donkeys got their butts back to DC and voted on the GOP’s Energy bill?
OH, btw, Oil prices on the futures market dropped 8% in the 1st week of the GOP House Revolt. This was an acceleration of the decline triggered by President Bush's lifting of the Executive ban on Off Shore Drilling on July 14th.
So apparently, Yes, we can drill our way out of this mess.
Isn't it amazing how our eyes get opened to reality. That littler "R" next to a name means nothing any more. It is misused nearly as much as the term "Christian". The current system of two "parties" that continue to grow more alike instead of different, is failing us.
What we need - term limits, and a viable 3rd party.
Here is my letter to my Senator, Mr Corker:
Mr Corker,
I am a hard working conservative Tennessean. I love the mostly conservative nature of our state and our Senators and Representatives.
Having said that, I have been so dismayed at seeing the Majorities that Americans gave the Republican Party frittered away. The Party of smaller Government and Fiscal Restraint gave us BIGGER Government and spending through the roof. Granted, the Iraq and Afghanistan Wras are expensive, but spending cuts in areas that need them did not happen.
Now, with energy prices soaring, the conservatives of theis country finally have the opportunity to force the issue of increasing domestic production of oil to reduce oil prices. I applaud, WHOLEHEARTEDLY, the actions of the GOP during this Congressional Recess to call attention to the lack of action and obstructionist policies of the liberals (Democrats). This is the opportunity to expose them to the light of day to the American Voters and perhaps even begin the process of regaining the Majority in either the House or Senate.
Instead, we find you involved in the Gang of 10. A bi-partisan sell-out. I urge you to stand your ground against the attempts by the Democrats to hamstring this country into third-world status. Our economy depends on inexpensive energy. The recent runup in gasoline and oil prices is just now beginning to have concrete negative effects. People have cut back on non-essential spending. and because of this, businesses are laying off or shutting their doors. This can only get worse, much worse, unless we take ALL steps necessary to increase the supply of oil.
Remove any restrictions over any identified oil fields for drilling. Streamline the process for more refineries. Force the EPA to reduce the ‘boutique’ blend requirements. In short, stand firm and force the Democrats to play their hand of obstruction, then openly point that out to struggling Americans.
